Hi, My name is Winnie. I work from home full-time as a pet sitter and behaviorist. Over the past 3 years I have worked full-time as a pet behaviorist for North Shore Animal League America, a national non-profit no-kill animal shelter focusing on both cats and dogs (resume and references available upon request) as well as dogsled handler. To say that animals have always been my love and passion is an understatement! I specialize in reading the body language of both canines and felines and have no issue working with pets of all sizes, breeds, or even temperaments. With every animal I patiently take the time to earn their trust, learn their personalities, likes, and dislikes. I will take the time to get to know your dog or cat from the second we begin to interact and their stay, walk, or visit will be tailored specifically to your animal so they can have the best time. Your dog has anxiety with car rides? No problem, we can walk to a nearby park or go for a jog. Your cat is a ground-prey hunter rather than an air-prey hunter? Cool, I'll bring out my mice and caterpillar toy and put away the wand. Dog has resource guarding? No problem, I'll just mitigate risk by removing all resources and creating a controlled environment. Cat with a fear of strangers? Dog with separation anxiety or leash reactivity? I can handle it all because I have worked with it all. With my extensive knowledge of animal behavior, I can guarantee that I will be able to recognize if your pet is even slightly stressed and have the knowledge and resources to keep your animal stress-free, loved, and happy. I am an extremely caring, and compassionate person, with a scientific understanding of animal behaviors who also loves spending time outdoors so if your furry friend loves to be active I can definitely help with that! But if your pet is more of a couch potato, I am perfectly fine with spending all afternoon on the pull-out. As a former teacher years ago, I am also very professional, reliable, detail-oriented, and very good with instructions so your pet will not be picking up any bad habits during their stay with me. My apartment is very clean, organized, has a backyard/outdoor area, and is already dog/cat-proofed so they will be safe and sound. I'll make sure your furry family member is healthy and happy for as long as you are away and that you are getting daily pictures and updates of all our adventures.
