I would make sure that you pet will get the love and attention from me as if you never left and I would take very good care of you pet and make sure they get the proper food and exercise that they need and give them lots of love and attention. And I will make sure if so to bathe them if need be and groom them if needed and make sure that when taking them on walks to keep control of them so that they would not jump or bite anyone in the park or whatever they may have people around and I will always keep them on a safe place so they would not get harmed in any way possible so they can make it home safe
