Pet care experience

I'm an animal lover who has been around animals my entire life. My family always had dogs and cats, but we've also had chickens, turkeys, ducks, horses, rabbits, and the occasional reptile or fish. My husband I have a 3 year old daughter who loves playing with animals and helping out with feeding (we monitor her closely with all animals). Our family also includes, Morrigan a female cat who is about 3.5, Rax a female cat who is about 2.5, and a 3.5 month old female puppy named Dixie. All my pets are fully up to date on their vaccinations and on flea/tick prevention. I believe every animal is part of the family and I will care for your pet like they are part of mine! I currently work from home as a research assistant for a GSU professor so I am all day except for the time it takes me to drop off/pick up my daughter from daycare. The only day I do not board or watch pets is Monday because that is my one research day during the week. However, I can do a late evening drop-off for boarding on Tuesdays. I am pretty flexible with my schedule, but I am definitely open to long-term set schedules if that works best for you! My house is located in a housing development in the rural part of Ellabell, GA. We have a large fenced backyard for dogs to play and a screened patio if you want your cats to have access to the outdoors in a safe environment. Our house is two-stories with plenty of room for dogs to run and play if the weather does not permit outside play. We will limit dogs to the downstairs portion of the home during the day as a way to provide our own cats with a safe space if they need to get away from the dogs. My neighborhood is fairly large so I can take the dogs on walks up to about 2 miles if they require longer walks. My husband and 3 year old are both home by 5:30pm during the week so the pets will have plenty of love from all three of us! Our cats mostly ignore dogs and go about their business or retreat upstairs. Dixie, our puppy, does great around other dogs. She is quite playful but has had no incidences of biting, nipping, or fighting in her interactions with other dogs. I am open to taking well socialized dogs to Forsyth Park or other dog parks. They must be well socialized and unaggressive towards other dogs in order to go on these tiprs.

Our dogs had a great time with Whitney and her dog, Dixie. They were able to play in a large backyard but were kept separate for feeding and sleeping time as we had requested. They had some fun water play time on one of the warm days as well. I was a little reluctant to go out of town because one of our dogs is pregnant, but I knew she was in good hands once arrangements were made with Whitney.

Whitney does good with animals big and small. She loves to exercise making her morning walks more enjoyable when she has her dog or any others she may be caring for. Whitney has had experience caring for many different animals throughout her life and wants to be able to continue that experience and joy with others too. Reach out to Whitney and let her help you with your fur babies if you need to travel or whatever the case may be.

Information Whitney M. would like to know about your pet

Please include information about your dog's socialization with other animals (dogs and cats specifically). I have a puppy and two cats so it is extremely important I understand how your dog typically behaves around these animals. How does your dog behave on leash? Are they house-trained? Crate trained? Fixed? How often do they usually go outside for bathroom breaks? Do they receive any type of reward or treat for going to the bathroom outside? Do they have any additional training? Would you like me to work with them on basic commands such as sit, stay, down, and shake? What type of reward do you use or would you like me to use if I work on these commands?

A typical day

I have a fenced backyard where I can play fetch and other activities with dogs. There is plenty of space for them to run and play outside! Our neighborhood is fairly large so I can take dogs on walks of 2+ miles if desired or we can go on shorter walks. I am also open to taking dogs to Forsyth Park or other dog parks in the area IF they are well socialized and unaggressive towards other dogs.
