When I moved to Portland, OR. a year ago, I decided I wanted to turn my love of dogs into a career. I started out walking friends' dogs, then found a job as a kennel tech, and now I am lucky enough to work at a doggy daycare! I lost my beautiful Akita a couple years ago -- my best friend of ten years. Adorable as he was hard-headed, he taught me so much about understanding dogs, and how to stay calm and patient with a stubborn pup. My friendship with him was as joyful as it was educational. I feel like any dog can be a great dog if they are loved and cared for. I prefer to use a gentle hand and positive reinforcement. I'm infinitely patient and I've got an unlimited supply of praise to go around. I think that some fresh air, a brisk walk, a play session, and lots of love can do wonders for the minds of dogs and people alike!
