Vet Tech and Dog Lover

Pet care experience

I love animals so much that I have dedicated my career to helping them-- I'm a Certified Veterinary Technician and I worked with a soft tissue surgeon for over 3 years doing anesthesia on critical patients. When my Kita-Bella passed away last May (2016), I decided to take a break from working in a hospital setting. It was so hard for me to see all of the patients at my hospital that were in so much pain, so I am currently doing Rover Full-Time. When you book with me, you can trust that I understand all of your concerns when you leave your pet. I am a pet parent myself. I currently have two dogs- Crouton is a 15 year old Shiba-Ina/Corgi mix, and I just adopted a little 4lb neurologic chihuahua named RooBee that I got from one of the clients at my hospital. I recently lost my Kita-Bella. She was a black lab that I had since puppyhood, and she was my best friend. I know how hard it is to leave a family member behind, and I promise that when I'm watching your dog, they'll be part of my family too. update: I have a new addition to my family. Tela is a 1 ½ year old female Newfoundland. She is very sweet and full of energy. She’s perfect! I have worked with all sorts of animals- ranging from hamsters and guinea pigs to chameleons to cats and dogs- and I have even worked with elephants! I am also completely comfortable giving medications (orally or injectable) if your pet needs it. I love all animals, big and small, and I am so excited to meet yours. Please reach out to me with any questions about the care I provide or about specifics for your pet.

Every time Leo goes to stay with Whitney, he leaps out of the car and runs towards her house. This is the same dog that used to shake and cower when being led to stay at the kennel. I think that his enthusiasm says it all. We love Whitney!

This was our first time using Rover and Whitney made it a great experience! I felt very comfortable after our meet and greet and by the time we went to stay, Nico was excited. Whitney is very sweet with our pup and I feel comfortable knowing he was very well taken care of. We will absolutely have Whitney watch Nico again.

Information Whitney A. would like to know about your pet

I want to know as much as possible about your pet so I can provide the best care for them. What is their personality like? Do they have any health issues? Any behavioral quirks I should know about? What can I do to make them comfortable? What are your expectations for the stay?

A typical day

What ever makes the dog most comfortable! If they are shy and anxious, I will try and win them over with food (the way to most dog's hearts!). If they have a lot of energy, I will be throwing balls and toys around with them until they get tired. If they like to snuggle or are afraid of thunder storms, I will be there to give lots of encouragement. I'm here for whatever your pup needs!
