I believe every dog is an individual with their own unique personality. They have their own likes and dislikes, behaviors, boundaries, comfort zones and feelings which is what makes them so interesting to me. Understanding how a dog feels is essential in making sure they are comfortable with a situation. That is my main focus when I meet a new dog, they have to know that everything is okay and that they are safe with me. I ensure their comfort by remaining calm and avoiding threatening positions/eye contact, I greet their owner and allow the dog to approach me before trying to interact with them. This approach allows me to reduce any threatening feelings a dog may feel and is a perfect way to begin our working relationship. I am mostly available during the morning hours since I attend school at Kennesaw State University in the afternoons and nights (Monday-Thursday), Fridays I am completely free. I am available on weekends, but I currently have another job that usually schedules me on Saturdays and Sundays.
