Hypoallergenic Dogs Only!

Pet care experience

I have a transition plan which includes a meet-n-greet at my place, then a few days later, a daycare day, then one overnight before a multi-night stay. INQUIRE EARLY so that we have that run-up time. I find that it allows the dogs to get used to the setting and routing, bond with me - which sets them up for less stress and more success as they can hit the ground running and have fun! I work from home as a writer and offer your hypoallergenic dog a home-away-from-home. Your furry family member will be doted on, played with, exercised, and nurtured. I live just outside Roslindale Village, close to multiple green spaces. I also have a fenced-in back yard. We go to Millenium Park daily and another park later. In between, we take a neighborhood leashed walk. When we're not outside, we are playing or your dog is napping on the couch or one of the comfortable dog beds. Your dog will have a safe, comfortable place to stay from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays (daycare) or overnight. I am a member of Pet Sitters International, have insurance, have passed a background check, and have plenty of references! Please contact me for more information.

Wendy is by far the best dog walker, sitter, run friend and all around caretaker that I have ever found. I've been a dog walker myself so I can tell that she is very responsible, caring and careful. I've used all sorts of dog walkers and sitters in this area and she is the best by far. My dog always comes back happy, well exercised and healthy. She is awesome!

Wendy has been watching my dog for more than 2 years now. He loses his mind with excitement when he sees her pull up and, I think, is disappointed when she drops him off at home with me! She is flexible, reliable and worries about your dog as if it was her own. She has accommodated all of my ridiculous, last minute requests and it is a huge relief to have her in our lives.

My dog had a lot of fun with Wendy and her pack. They play together a lot at home and in the park. 100% recommend ?

Wendy watched our dog, Stella, for a second time a few weekends ago when we went up New Hampshire. It was another great experience as Wendy sent us a few pictures of Stella so we knew she was having a blast. Wendy goes out of her way to keep Stella happy while we are away - she even purchased a toy with Stella in mind. Wendy made the booking process very easy as we heard back from her almost immediately.

Again, to build trust with your dog and make him/her comfortable, I have a transition plan. First, a meet & greet at my place in Roslindale. Your dog will sniff around "gathering data" and you and I will fill out a questionnaire regarding your dog. Your dog will see that I am a safe person since we are talking. Then a daycare day so your dog will meet other dogs, have time to see our routine, and get more familiar and bonded with me. Then, if you are going on a multi-day trip, one overnight for your dog. All this helps to make your dog's experience successful. I do not let dogs off leash until they prove their recall. I bring them to an enclosed field so they can run. We also do neighborhood walks, play games inside, and have nap times (they decide on those times themselves)! A home is different as they can act like they do at home - which includes down time and naps, in addition to exercise and play.

I need to know that your dog does not shed (is hypoallergenicbc I am allergic but am riding the doodle wave!), does not have any aggression toward dogs or people, or separation anxiety (whining, barking, destructive behavior) when left alone. Dogs need to be able to settle themselvesI cannot take dogs who cannot settle themselves and have good dog-on-dog social skills. They must be able to walk well on a leash. Puppies are usually too rambunctious and may get in another dog's personal space, so please take that into consideration. Excessive barking (mail person barking is ok) disturbs my upstairs neighbor and the other dogs. Other than that, I just want to learn what your dog likes and what would make him and you happy!

A typical day

We go to Millenium Park in West Roxbury in the morning, off leash for about 45 minutes. If your dog can't be off leash, we go to a nearby fenced-in field. If your dog is older or cannot be that active, I have been known to use pet strollers. I have a 15 year old dog client who would rather stay home. I cater to each dog's needs. After their run, they usually nap, on the couch or on one of the dog beds. It is important for dogs to have some down time. Once they're up, we play in the yard and go on a neighborhood leashed walk. Back home, more games! I have tons of toys... balls for fetch and hide-n-seek, brain games, tug, etc. All day long, I give each dog tons of one-on-one attention and affection. I get to know each dog's personality. The dogs get to make friends with other dogs, too!
