Pet care experience
I have always been an animal lover, but have never been able to own a dog until I moved to New Orleans and no longer traveled for work. We have two rescue dogs that we got from the Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter and ARNO. Our dogs stay inside the house except for when they go out to play and when we take them on walks. I always offer to dog-sit for friends when they go out of town and they always have a good time. I treat all dogs like they are my own! Our dogs are very energetic and love to play and run around with other animals. They even get along with cats if introduced properly. We have friends' dogs over all the time and they run around in the fenced in backyard. If your dog gets along with other dogs, they will have a great time with Roux and Jax! I am mostly only available on weekends due to the fact that during the week I’m at the office working and wouldn’t want to leave them alone all day.

Wade made Mardi feel right at home and even has a dog who loves to play as much as Mardi. He sent photo updates and was flexible for our drop off and pick up times. Wade has a great back yard too. We definitely will be returning. Thanks!

We have a pretty big fenced in backyard that they will be free to run around and play in. While we are home they will have free use of the whole house to roam around, but I always keep a close eye on new dogs in the house.

If they are friendly toward other dogs, all breeds are welcome here! One requirement is that you provide a crate for the dog for when nobody is at home or we can use ours.
A typical day
I like to take my dog for walks at Audubon Park, City Park, and the levee close to my house. We also have a fenced in back yard so they would get plenty of play time outside.

Availability
We take the dogs outside in the backyard multiple times a day and take them walking when we get a chance. Live close to the levee so have a good walking area.
