My husband and I recently relocated to Grover Beach from Fresno for the wonderful climate and lifestyle. As a dog and cat owner, I have empathy for both the owner and the pet during separation from each other. I started my pet sitting business two years ago after several trips that my husband and I had taken and had to leave our "Honey"- a 9lb Cairn Terrier home. We would agonize about leaving her alone for 3-4 days or leaving her in a boarding kennel (caged). We knew she would be better off at home, in familiar surroundings than in a kennel. The final straw came after a 4 day trip to the Bay Area and we came home to find Honey in a catatonic state. I knew "then and there" that I would never leave her alone for this long again. I thought to myself, "I can't be the only pet owner that feels this way". I have found that my clients have the same problems when traveling and if they love there animals like I love Honey, they feel the same way too!!!
