Life-long animal lovers, Virginia and Robert are excited to welcome your pup to Sophie's Place and make your dog feel right at home. We know the anxiety of leaving your precious pets behind when you travel. Rest assured your sweet pup will be cuddled, entertained and thoroughly spoiled rotten while you're away. Doggie guests are welcome to sleep wherever they are most comfortable, whether that's one of our fluffy dog beds or a bed/crate you provide. We are well versed caring for senior pets and are comfortable providing oral and injectable medications, such as insulin or sub-Q fluids. PLEASE NOTE: We require a Meet & Greet session prior to any new guest's first stay with us. This is CRITICAL to ensuring we are a good match for your fur baby and allows us to evaluate possible pairings with other guests who might be staying with us. Before sending a request, please be sure you will be able to schedule time for a meet and greet.

Virginia and her husband have taken care of our pup several times and we are always impressed and grateful for the experience they provide. They treat her like their own and provide a comfortable and safe stay, so we don't have to worry while we're away. We highly recommend them!
Virginia has kept our Beau for a couple of years and she is amazing with him. He is an older dog and sensitive but he LOVES to follow Virginia around. I am so thankful to have Virginia and Robert to care for Beau when we have to be out of town. I never worry.
I could not have imagined a better experience for Kai. Virginia is awesome when it comes to loving your furry friends ! Our 7 month old Golden retriever came home very happy and relaxed. I cannot recommend her enough !

We only offer boarding services and generally keep only two pups at a time. We treat our guests as we would our own pets, meaning they hang out with us as we watch TV, enjoy our deck or spend supervised time in our fenced back yard.

PLEASE READ: We require a meet and greet session prior to any guest's first stay with us. We will not accept any requests for stays starting less than three days from when the initial request is made in order to allow time for this critical step. Until further notice, all meetings will take place in our fenced backyard. ------------------------------------------------------- PLEASE READ TO END. I appreciate a sense of your pup's general personality and energy levels, favorite forms of play, general daily schedule, medications and any fears or anxieties. We'll do our best to maintain their normal routines during their stay. WE REQUIRE all guests be house-trained, spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccinations and flea management. PUPPIES: We do not take puppies under six months. Puppies must be past their teething stage, which is generally older than six months, and be housetrained. DROP-OFFS AND PICKUPS are available by appointment between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Please book your stay to accommodate these hours. Special requests for drop-offs/pick-up outside these hours may be considered if made in advance; additional fees may apply. BOARDING RATES ARE BASED ON A 24-HOUR BASIS. For example, If pup is dropped off early morning and picked up late evening, a daycare fee of $25 will be assessed. EXCLUSIVE STAYS: If you would like your pup to be our only guest during their visit, we offer an exclusive rate of $65/night from Labor Day to Memorial Day. Summer exclusive rates are $75/night. Holiday exclusive rates are $90/night. HOLIDAYS: No drop-off or pickup on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve after 4 p.m., Christmas day, New Year's Eve after 4 p.m. or New Years Day.
A typical day
We'll play in our spacious fenced yard, go for walks on local greenways or longer hikes on nearby wooded trails. Small dogs can get cuddles on the sofa, while bigger dogs relax on fluffy dog beds. Either way, we'll treat your baby like our own, giving lots of love and personal attention.

Since we only take two pups at a time, our guests live with us like our own pets and hang out with us wherever we are throughout the day. I work from home, so most guests hang out with me in my office area while I work. I take breaks throughout the day to play with the pups and take them outside for potty breaks.
