My passion for dogs and dog psychology first came about when my parents were asked to "rescue" a litter of puppies who were born from herding dogs on property in the Santa Cruz Mountains. We gave most of the puppies away, but kept two of them. We had always lived with a dog, but this was the first time we were allowing more than one into our home. This is when I began to observe the pack behavior of dogs, and became very interesting in studying dog psychology. We brought in several different dog trainers to help us; most of them told us we would never be able to control our pups. But I continued to learn from various different books and other trainers, and those pups have turned out to be perfectly wonderful dogs. I became very familiar with the fundamentals of the dog walk, and using energy and body language to communicate with the dog. Now I have graduated from Santa Clara University and am hoping to exercise my passion for dogs and earn some extra cash while studying for graduate school.
