Pet care experience
Your pet will enjoy a very pet-friendly environment here, with plenty of space to play and rest, both indoors and out. My home is located on five acres which back up to miles of hiking trails. I also have a fenced back yard and a lifetime's worth of experience in caring for pets of all varieties. Why I love dog sitting I've always been a dog lover. I've had dogs all my life—purebreds (german shepherds, collies, and shelties) and mixed breeds of all kinds—so I'm familiar with many of the different breeds' temperaments as well as their varying activity levels and exercise requirements. I ensured that my children also grew up with dogs and other pets, too, because the bonds that pets form with their owners and the life lessons they teach are invaluable to everyone. About my yard The back yard is fenced and very spacious. In addition, outside of the fenced yard, I have five acres which are partially wooded with a small stream.

Victoria and Houdini did an excellent job of helping my senior dog, Aspen, feel right at home. Victoria has a beautiful home and plenty of outdoor space for the dogs to explore. She is very professional and experienced and I had zero doubt Aspen would be well taken care of. We will definitely be back!
Victoria is awesome. I have a german shepherd that I love dearly and have never left with anyone before. I went to a couple meet & greets with other potential sitters and was rather disappointed at the home environments, and I'm sorry to say, the people that wanted to pet sit. Meeting with Victoria was a fantastic experience. She is very professional and dedicated to the well-being and care of her own dog and the dogs that stay with her. She has a beautiful home and yard and the dogs are in heaven there. She's incredibly competent and careful to have a harmonious and peaceful environment for the animals left in her care. I feel lucky to know that she's there when/if I need to leave my dog. I would not trust anyone else to take care of my boy. It feels so good to know there are people like Victoria that pet sit for the right reasons, and that they bring quality care, love, and fun for your pet while you are away. What more could I ask for? Very Satisfied Customer. :)
Our two boys can be quite a handful, but Victoria masterfully managed getting them oriented to a new space and her adorable dog, Houdini. She was wonderful about updating us with their stay with hilarious pictures and commentary. They had such a great time and can't wait to go back for more fun!
Victoria is terrific with animals! My dog was there every day (doggie daycare) for almost a year. She also took care of him overnight for me on several occassions. The longest overnight stay was almost two weeks, when I was on vacation. She taught my dog several new tricks and was even able to teach him some manners that I hadn't able to! Lol. My little guy behaves better for her than he does for me. He really likes being at her house with her. It's like his second home.

I would like to know if your dog has been socialized with other animals and if he or she has ever shown any aggressive tendencies toward anyone or anything. I can often work with an animal that has aggressive tendencies, but I definitely need to know about that sort of thing ahead of time in order to avoid any potential conflicts with other animals or people. I would also like to know about your dog's personality. For example, does he or she have any separation anxiety, is he or she fearful of new places or people? The more information I have in advance, the more comfortable I can make your dog feel while you're away.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks From the back of the property we can connect with miles of hiking trails which vary from fairly level to hilly and run parallel to the Occoquan river. If owners give permission, we can go on nice long walks along these trails. It's a dog's paradise--so many things to see and smell! Your dog's sleeping arrangement Your dog will sleep in the house. I have several different locations, including kennels, so it would depend on what your dog is accustomed to and on his or her comfort level. But if your dog is like mine, he or she will prefer a doggie bed on the floor near my bed. :-) Time I'll spend with your dog As much as he or she likes.
