Pet care experience
I am a silver-haired house/pet sitter with prior assignments in Spain, Canada (Quebec, Alberta & British Columbia) and the U.S. (Michigan, Nevada, California, Florida). Your pet stays in the comfort of their own home and I will send you photos and email updates of what they've been up to in your absence as long as you have internet service. I have a long history of working with rescue dogs of all sizes as well as senior dogs and can administer shots as needed. If allowed your dog can go to the dog park with me and even for rides in the car if that makes them feel good. No dog is ever let off of the leash unless it is in their own fenced yard. I'm currently living in Sarasota. From May thru October, I am searching for sitting jobs in the north to get away from this heat and humidity. I prefer long-term sits when possible.

Victoria sat for us in the summer of 2016. She cared for our home, 2 small dogs and 2 cats. The animals were very well cared for; happy and relaxed when we returned home. Vicky took the 2 dogs for car rides, which they love, as well as walks in new places. The cats were comfortable with her presence in our home. The house was tidy and clean. Vicky was very generous as she took us to the airport and picked us up, as well. Vicky is a very personable and kind lover of animals and people. We invited her for another sit, but she was unavailable. We recommend her highly.
Princess and Artie were healthy and happy when I got home, and the house was cleaner than I left it! Vicky kept me updated with photos throughout her stay. She really took care of every detail to help me feel confident leaving my dogs in her care.
I felt completely confident leaving my 3 dogs and cat in Victoria’s capable hands. She had a calm but firm manner with my rambunctious young dog Jack. She kept us updated with pictures and text on a daily basis. Upon our return we found happy pets and an immaculate home. Win Win
I was on the board of a 501(c)(3) dog rescue and was also the foster home coordinator. When Vickie moved to Michigan she applied to foster and advised she would do transport, home checks etc for us. We did our own home check and veterinary check and reference check of her. She was a good dog person who has an understanding of how to care for and live with dogs. I was sad to learn she was moving to Florida as rescue lost someone who would do home checks and transport anytime, dogsit for our foster homes when they went on vacation, work our events etc. If she comes onboard with your company you will be most satisfied as will your customers.

I'm sorry but I will not sit with Pit Bulls, Dobermans, White German Shepherds, and Rottweilers. I do prefer to meet with the home/pet owner and the pet prior to agreeing to sit. This can be done in person or via an internet call depending on the distance. Your home will be clean upon your return. In working with senior dog rescue, I was involved in hospice care and/or providing a quiet environment for an abused pet to heal. (I do not have the capability of bringing a pet into my home at this time.)
A typical day
Regular exercise and play time (in the home or out) happens on a regular basis. Each dog has his or her preferences and I will always work within their parameters. I do not do very, very long walks at this time. Rides in the car … visits to the dog park … anything that falls into how you want your dog treated.
