Pet care experience
I started working with dogs at 16 years old at a greyhound kennel, for about 3 years. Had my first dog while growing up, and multiple outdoor kitties as a child. I have my cat now—Ritzy (12 yrs old), and a few years ago became a foster dog failure (winner) and adopted my Moriah (11 yrs old) from the SPCA of Texas. As of Sept 2020, I foster failed again! ha! So now have Tess (8 years old) also from the SPCA. Jan 2024 adopted another foster from Oklahoma! Aspen! ❤️ ***Prior to moving to NM, I was a volunteer with the SPCA of Texas from 8/2017-8/2019 and had their training in animal handling, and adoption counseling. I accumulated 700+ hours in volunteer time at the shelter and fostering with them. I loved it there, and was around many rescue dogs from bad situations. Positive reinforcement, patience, and empathy is so important in rescue and these are some of my strengths when it comes to working with fearful dogs especially. I fostered many dogs when I could even if its was just for the weekend. Some I had a couple of months until we found the right home. Giving them time in a home is so rewarding, even if they are nervous or insecure of their new surroundings they get to experience a “home”, for maybe the first time ever! After moving, fostered dogs in New Mexico w/Albuquerque Animal Welfare, and privately for transport from Mexico to rescue groups in Utah. I was a Feral Friends volunteer from 4/2017-7/2019 and helped with cleaning the cat condos at Petco in Plano TX. I got my kitty cuddles in, since my cat does not like them lol. I might be a crazy cat lady, and have some good outcomes with TNR. Have at least 7+ years with just animal volunteer experience! I'm open to helping with all your fur family, and will give them the best care, and love!! They are family, and would treat them if they were part of mine. My schedule is somewhat flexible with enough notice I can attempt to alter work schedule for mid day check ins. BUT Depending on travel, I am on the road sometimes for full 8 hour days.. Living in Durant for the last 2 years **M-F I work full-time. Somewhat flexible to come home for lunches for mid day check ins, but Saturday and Sunday are really my only days available for doggy day care, reach out just in case ;) I have a big 6-8ft fenced yard for them to play. Here with me or at their home, we go off your pet's routine in care. ***When boarding- I do need more notice as I have been fostering rescue dogs again and want to make sure all is well with multiple dogs in the home. Please note because of this if any concerns on your dogs health please be UTD on core vaccines and flea/tick preventatives. The ones here are treated I am just extra precautious. Things take time to be effective with vax. ***When requesting a drop-in visit/walk/boarding my radius is 10 miles MAX from my place off Lake Durant Rd. If over this distance, a .50/mile fee Round-trip in overage is applied and will need to be added to booking adjustment.
Reviews
We could not have been more pleased with Victoria! She cared for our dogs, in-home visits, for over a week while we were on vacation. My only regret is that I did not discover Rover.com, and Victoria, until recently. Victoria is a perfect fit for us, and we (and our dogs!) highly recommend her!
We would recommend Victoria to anyone who wants someone who is loving, understanding and great at communication. We needed her in a pinch and she came through plus some. Our Rufus had a great time and felt loved. We had a great vacation knowing he was well taken care of.
Great as always!!!
So great with our pups! Will definitely be booking again!

If I am boarding your dog, I would ask if they are comfortable and well-mannered around other pets/and cats. Must be crate trained OR house-trained dogs IF they are not completely house broken. I will only overnight 1 Dog at time. Daycare 2 if it is from the same home. ***Please be UTD on some sort of flea preventative.
