Pet care experience
My recent experience was taking 24/7 care of the Bichon I gave my dad for his 75th birthday. I assumed the total care of his dog. I did everything but the professional grooming for him. He didn't care much for the swimming pool or sauna [unlike his father...who loved to jump in!] The pool and sauna are enclosed in a keyed cage. I live in a doggy-friendly subdivision; however, dogs are to be leached when taken out. I live within walking distance of the county dog park in Venice. There's a small dog, fenced area, and a larger, grassy, fenced-in area for larger dogs. My Bichon always wanted to be with the bigger dogs.

I prefer smaller dogs, those that will fit on/near lap when I am on the couch. Then, dogs can be where I am on the furniture. No breed preference, though I had a Bichon.
A typical day
Dogs will enjoy the comfort of Florida air-conditioning while inside. I have a basket full of soft, squeaky toys for play, and will provide chewy bones with permission of dog owners. As already stated: have pool and spa in keyed-cage; and am walking distance to county paw park; furthermore, there is ample walking among the landscape of the Jacaranda Library and a wellness pond to walk dogs around...4 laps equals one mile.
