I'll adore your pets the way you do
Pet care experience
Beyond living with pets every day of my life, I've cared for others' pets in many capacities as an adult. I've boarded dogs in my home, I've looked after many, many cats and dogs in their own homes: on both a long term basis and single drop-in visits as needed. I've also cared for snakes, guinea pigs, fish, rats, and chickens! I'm excited to grow that list over time and do not shy away from exotic pets.
Reviews
Veronica has been wonderful to work with. She’s very accommodating and built a good repot with our cats quickly.
Helped us in a pinch. Our cats loved her. Thanks so much!
Thank you for taking great care of Bobby again!
Veronica did very well with my anxious cats. She sent a bunch of pictures every visit and gave detailed updates. Would definitely recommend!

Safety, trust & environment
When visiting your pets in your home, I take a lot of care to ensure the health and safety of your animals and your home. I'm careful to be the only one through the door while entering and exiting. I pay attention to signs that might indicate a pet may be in distress or feeling ill, such as changes in their fur, appetite, or digestion. I wash my hands after handling kitty litter and doggy waste bags, especially before handling other items in the home. I'm vaccinated against COVID-19, and I wear a mask in public spaces. I am also Cat and Dog First Aid Certified by the American Red Cross. When walking dogs, I make sure all collar and leash clips are secure, as well as any harness you may use. I take the safest (e.g., sidewalk, side street,) and at night, most well lit, route to walk your dog, and I try my best to keep myself between the road and your pup, even when we're on a sidewalk. And I ALWAYS pick up and dispose of waste!
Information Veronica H. would like to know about your pet
There are lots of things that vary from pet to pet and owner to owner, and knowing some of these things can really help me give the best care possible to your babies. I'd like to know what commands your dog responds to, I'd like to know if your dog is reactive to people, other dogs, cats, or wildlife while outside, I'd like to know if you expect your cat to be social or hiding, I'd like to know if anyone is known for trying to sneak out the door, and I'd like to know any detail or nuance about your pet that may be relevant. Too much information is usually better than not enough!
A typical day
I want to tailor your pet's visit to their needs, whether that is lots of playing and fun, lots of cuddling and affection, brushing, treats, tricks, or any combination that is best for your pet(s)!

Availability
I work both independently as well as with a locally owned petsitting business on a daily basis. I can nearly always accommodate drop-in visits, even around the holidays! My days are flexible, and 'last minute' bookings are more than welcome.
