Pet care experience
I am retired Army, single, with no children. Moved to Georgia to be close to family after retirement. In February 2022 my dog, Teddy, passed away after 17 years and I am not ready to move on yet. While on active duty Rover was a saving grace for Teddy and I, and I wanted to do the same for others. Just the thought of leaving them breaks my heart but knowing someone is there to care for them like their own eases the heartache. I have a warm pet friendly home, in an established pet friendly neighborhood perfect for long walks and outdoor adventures. I have a nice size front and back yard, but it is not fenced in. I am able to accommodate small or large animals easily, canine or feline alike, and since I currently do not have any pets of my own, they will get plenty of love and affection. I prefer the calmness of older animals but have no issues with those a little more rambunctious. Additionally, I am able to care for those who may need additional requirements (senior care). Additionally, there is an animal clinic five minutes from my home for any emergencies. Pets must NOT be destructive and MUST be kennel trained!!

Safety, trust & environment
In my home I have a nice sized front and rear backyard in a very pet friendly community. I will walk frequently, allowing pet to socialize with neighbors and their pets to prevent boredom. I will always watch and interact with pet to prevent separation anxiety. Cuddling is one of my favorite pastimes. When boarding pets in my home it is important to ensure their comfort in a new environment so providing basic essentials is important: 1) Toys, toys, toys. Supply them with their favorite toys to help them pass the time, it keeps them from becoming bored and possibly destructive. 2) Blankets or pet beds. I have LVP throughout my home so having their own bed or blanket gives them a certain level of comfort and familiarity. 3) Proper food bowls. If you have an aggressive/fast eater, your pet should be eating out of a slow feeder or anti choking dog bowl. Also, if you have a large dog they should not be eating off the floor, but instead should have an elevated food bowl to prevent heartburn amongst other issues. It is important to me that your four-legged animals are well taken care of while in my care!

Information Veronica C. would like to know about your pet
All pets must to be on current flea and tick prevention, rabies, and bordatella vaccinations. Please have shot record available for review and a copy kept with pet while boarding. Need to know their energy level, and any special requirements. Knowing any particular quirks, likes or dislikes. Food allergies and special feeding requirements, especially if need to administer any medications. If they have anxiety, separation disorders or are prone to depression. If they are aggressive towards other animals or people for any reason, and if they are/can become destructive. All information is good information to making them comfortable.
A typical day
Depending on the dogs activity level, I would take for a walk first thing in the morning before breakfast. Visit a dog park for lunch, play a little catch or chase. Do a long walk in the evening before dinner. Continued interaction, will take them with me to run errands if necessary and try not to leave them alone more than two hours.

Availability
I am currently retired, and do not have a set schedule, so I can adjust to most requirements depending on the pet’s need. Outside of going to the gym for a couple hours daily and church on Sunday your pet will become my priority.
