Pet care experience
I've lived with and taken care of dogs for as long as I can remember! I grew up with three dogs in my family, and I've had plenty of neighbors, friends, and family members rely on me to walk, feed, and care for their pets. I have always been a passionate lover of animals, and my number one priority as an animal caretaker is making sure your fur baby is happy, healthy, and comfortable. I have experience taking care of senior dogs, as well as puppies and cats. I am great at giving cuddles and compassion to any animal who is feeling lonely during their human family's absence.

Vera is great! Super communicative and caring about our pets and my concerns! She took great care of our 4 cats! She also helped out making sure our rabbit and tortoise had food! Wonderful peace of mind knowing she will come by and take care of everyone when we are out! Will definitely use her as a resource in the future
Barone was well cared for and content when we came home, and the house was in excellent shape. We know we can always rely on her and appreciate the peace of mind when we're out of town. Vera also completed routine household chores, as requested, such as emptying the Roomba and taking out the trash.
As always, Vera did a great job taking care of my munchkins, and I will continue to use her services. 😊

I am willing to do anything your pet might require for them to be comfortable and happy! When dog-walking, I make sure the dog is comfortable with the pace of the walk, and I like to check in with them often to make sure they are doing okay throughout it. I know that depending on the age of the dog, some might be less spry than others! When dog-sitting, I like to make sure the dog's water bowl is full, and check on them throughout the day (as well as give them lots of love and cuddles!). I am able to take your dog(s) for up to three walks per day, and I can provide potty breaks for them every 5-6 hours.

Is your dog's food prepared a certain way? Do they like to listen to music? Is there anything in particular (like the Fourth of July, or storms) that makes them anxious? Does your dog take any medications? I would love to know so that I can best accommodate their needs!
A typical day
I love going on walks, so I will be extra happy to have a companion to go on little adventures with. I am also happy to take your dog(s) to the beach if you are comfortable with that, and feel they would enjoy it! (I can bathe them as well, since they'll likely get a bit sandy.) I have my own car (have been driving for nine years), and I take my own fur baby to the beach regularly! I grew up in Humboldt County, so I know the area extremely well. I know plenty of great trails for walking (with little to no people, so extremely low Covid risk!), or if there is a specific place that your pet likes to play, please feel free to let me know!

Availability
I am once again open for housesitting! However, I usually ONLY take housesitting bookings in Arcata due to gas prices and time constraints. I also have another job, which means I cannot provide round-the-clock care for your pets. Your dog must be okay being left alone for 5-6 hours at a time (but of course I will sleep there and give them plenty of walks/playtime/cuddles during my work breaks!) During the summer I’ll be much less available for housesitting, so just keep that in mind, please! ALL OF MY DOG WALKING SLOTS ARE FULL, SO I’M NOT TAKING NEW DOG WALKING CLIENTS. Sorry for the inconvenience. I do have a waitlist, so if you’re interested, I can let you know if and when availability opens up. My drop-in schedule is a lot more flexible, but again, I'm more likely to accept bookings in ARCATA ONLY. Thank you for understanding!
