Welcome to Auntie Ven's!

Pet care experience

PLEASE READ THROUGH ALL SECTIONS OF THE PROFILE THOROUGHLY PRIOR TO GOING FORWARD WITH RESERVATIONS. Hello! As an animal lover and animal rights advocate, I'd be delighted to take care of your four-legged or two-legged, furry, feathered, scaly, (etc) family member while respecting all of your guidelines for care. My animal care experiences include volunteering at animal shelters, sanctuaries, animal rescues, veterinary clinic, pet grooming service, and pet-sitting for friends and family who were away on vacation. I'm an animal rights advocate working to eradicate animal exploitation industries and speciesism worldwide and help rescue various species of animals, not only the so-called "companion animals." I'm also a loving auntie of two rescued cats. Feel free to contact me for a service request or any question. I'd be glad to meet your companion animals beforehand to see if we're compatible. Please try to request a booking at least 5 days in advance to allow enough time for a meet-n-greet and to verify availability. Last-minute bookings can be accommodated, but not guaranteed. My calendar may not accurately reflect my availability, as there are pending requests and other commitment, so please message me first to confirm my schedule. Come on over to Auntie Ven's! 🌿 * Please note that your service request may be refused for any reason.

Ven has been our go to sitter for 13 years, we are so glad that we found her when Chloé was just a puppy. Chloé has such a wonderful time at Aunty Ven’s. She looks so happy in the pictures that Ven shares with us. We are always able to enjoy our vacations knowing that our little girl is in safe and loving hands 💜. Thank you!!!

Ven is just an amazing dog sitter! She takes all the time needed to ensure your pup is very comfortable, constantly provides pictures and updates and goes out of her way to make them have lots of fun! I would highly recommend Ven for any stay! Our pup is looking forward to his next visit with Auntie Ven!

Information Ven L. would like to know about your pet

I am open to dogs, cats, etc of all energy levels - I cater to their needs depending on their personality. Feel free to reach out to me to schedule a Meet-And-Greet in advance! Age range of dogs, cats, etc: I am more experienced with young, adult, and early senior dogs, cats, etc, though I would gladly and carefully follow your instructions on special senior care of animals of ages 15+ years. (I have experience with caring for animals of 18+ years old.) ✯ REQUIRED items to prepare: dog harness (Please note that I walk dogs on harnesses, not collars, as they're safer, more secure and humane than a collar), leash, food, any appropriate medication if your companion animal is on treatment, record of vaccinations from a vet (if not provided during the Meet-N-Greet) ✯ RECOMMENDED items to prepare (They're available at Auntie Ven's, but bringing your own may allow your dog or cat to feel more comfortable in a new environment): treats, toys, bedding, food/water bowls, collar with name and address ** In the case that your dog or cat damages any of the sitter's property (i.e. furnishing inside the house) and/or causes injury to the sitter or any other party, it is your responsibility as the parent to pay for the replacement parts and/or the medical treatment of the sitter or other injured individuals. By leaving your dog or cat under the sitter's care, you are agreeing to these terms & conditions.

A typical day

I've taken my furry guests to dog parks, dog beaches, lakes, pet supply shops, etc. upon approval of their parents. Depending on schedule and how comfortable the animal guests are with such trips, Auntie Ven may head out on a little adventure with them. I also like to work on any training and tricks (walking next to human guardian during walks, preventing leash-pulling, focusing attention on guardian outdoors, coming to guardian when called over, sitting, shaking hand, staying down, etc.) that parents are currently working on with their furry children through positive reinforcement. Bring over any effective treats you like to use for training them and share some techniques you'd like me to employ while training your companion animals.
