A Little About Me: My name is Vani and I LOVE animals. I've growing up caring for dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, exotic birds, reptiles, hermit crabs, the list goes on! While I can look after your pup I'd be more than happy to help out with any other critters. I've worked at dog training companies, volunteered at shelters, and have experience with dogs of all shapes and sizes. Home Sweet Home: I live in a loft in DTLA with my boyfriend (Aaron); I'm in Advertising and Aaron is a Camera Operator and Writer so we have flexible schedules. We have a Shiba Inu (Buddha) and Domestic Short Hair cat (Cait-Sith) who are both very friendly and affectionate, especially towards dogs. They are both fed high protein, non-filler foods and healthy treat options if you aren't able to provide any prior. Medication: I have experience administering oral medication and owning a diabetic dog I can also help provide insulin injections. We'd love to be your pets' home away from home!

Having known Vani for nearly a decade, there's one thing I know; she loves animals and prides herself in being a patient "momma". She has raised and taken care of her own dog with diabetes, worked as an assistant for Dog Trainers in NorCal, and for the past two years she's lived with me, has helped me day-to-day with my Shiba Inu (and he's pretty stubborn, so brownie points are well deserved). She's incredibly detailed oriented, stays up to date on the best meds and foods to give our animals, and always provides them plenty of play time and enrichment. If you want a sitter who is passionate about your pup's daily routine, then you want Vani.
I am very overprotective of my dog madison, her hearing is limited and being a cocker spaniel she is very nervous a round people. We asked vani to take care of her while we were out of town. Vani was wonderful with madison and had no problems with her. Somehow she was able to communicate with her even with the dogs hearing issues. I would recommend vani to anyone needing someone to care for their pet.
Vani made fast friends with my dog Maddie. Maddie doesn't take to many people right away, but with Vani it was instant! I trust Vani with Maddie entirely.

If they're staying with us, pets should be able to get along with other dogs and cats, as we have both. If they have separation anxiety, please provide a crate (if they're crate trained) or some of their personal belongings to help ease their worries. Unless they're a puppy, we expect all of our guests to be potty trained. Please let us know if your dog has any toy or food aggression so we can prepare prior to their stay.
A typical day
Either Aaron or myself will be home so your dog will always have someone around. There are plenty of beds to lounge in and toys to go around; your dog will have at least one other buddy to hang out with (Buddha) so playtime is always fun and engaging. Or if they prefer to be left alone, we can make sure they aren't bothered (our animals are pretty good about respecting boundaries). We're in a very dog friendly building and neighborhood so there are doggy bathroom stations everywhere. Echo Park is also 10 minutes away if your dog will be staying with us over the weekend. As long time pet owners, everything is dog and cat proof so everyone is safe. I'm also happy to follow any specific dietary, medical, grooming instructions your pets may need.
