Pet care experience

Hello there! My name is Vaneza & I absolutely love dogs (and cats, bunnies, fish, the list goes on!). I have had dogs around during almost every period of my life & have experience with many breeds. I understand that they need a lot of exercise, love, & attention - I think that's why dogs are fond of me, they can sense that I know what I'm doing and I know how to give them what they need. I have prior experience as a dog walker & sitter for a small company in Seattle as well as working individually. In addition to having a squeaky clean background, I am punctual, responsible, & professional. I know what it takes to take excellent care of your pet, as I have two happy pups of my own. I watch pets with the help of my fiancé, Ian - we work together to make sure your dog feels properly cared for and loved while you're gone. Our own dogs may accompany us for longer stays, so it's important to us that we can make sure all parties involved feel at ease with each other prior to arranging a stay (we discuss whether that would be a good fit for you, of course). We both have full-time jobs, but we are flexible (ex: I am able to work from your home) if needed. At the end of the day, we love dogs and dogs love us! Thanks for taking the time to read this, have a wonderful day! :) Why I love dog sitting: I have had dogs my whole life! I have had experience with every kind from St Bernard to Husky, German Shepherd to Chihuahua. Big or little, confident or skittish, I can make any pet feel at home and relaxed when they stay with me. I'm comfortable with them all! There's something to be said about the feelings of happiness & tranquility that dogs bring out in humans. Meet my pets First, we have Daisy, an outgoing 4-year-old Lab/Aussie mix who loves making new friends. She is happy to play with & entertain new pals who may be more on the energetic side. She's never met a dog that she doesn't like - but she likes them even better if they like to lounge around, like she does increasingly as she gets older. In addition to Daisy, we have Cooper, our year old Weimaraner/Lab mix baby. She's still got energy to spare as she's still growing out of puppyhood, but she loves meeting new pups, chasing them around the yard, or playing with them. She is a sweetheart with what we affectionally call "little dog complex" - she barks at new, large dogs at first but settles in to love them once she has the chance to spend more time with them. Both of our girls are sweet & loving - we call them Adapter Dogs because they get along with every dog they've ever met. About my yard We live on 1/3 of an acre, meaning that we have a giant back yard (that is fully fenced), which is perfect for running around! The front yard is unfenced, but we usually don't let the dogs hang out there. We live in a wonderful neighborhood with lots of quiet streets & a quick drive away from a dog park, if your pup prefers that for exercise. We also live less than 5 minutes away from Seahurst Park and take advantage of sunny days by walking along the beach there. My experience administering medication I am very comfortable administering oral medication if needed - our old pup would take pills and powders multiple times per day. Just tell me how your pup prefers to take their meds and we can do that.

Our kitty was happy and healthy upon our return and our kitchen and bathrooms had been beautifully cleaned. A very nice way to come home.

Information Vaneza G. would like to know about your pet

In order to have the best, stress-free experience for your pup and me, I need to know: Is your pet house-trained? What does their normal schedule look like? How do they do around other dogs (for walks, if they like the dog park, & such). What is their favorite method of getting their energy out? Has your dog ever been away from their people? How did they handle it? Are they barkers or whiners when you leave, or can they be bribed with food/love? I'm a big fan of written instructions (so I don't have to bother you while you're out of town too much!) and would love to have those by the time of the stay, if you decide we're the right fit for you and your pets. Many folks just print out a copy of the information and hand it to me, but emailing is also an option.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks: Seahurst is a perfect place for dogs -- there are many green, grassy parks, beaches nearby, & the hills provide perfect exercise turf. We could walk around the quiet neighborhood, go play catch at the dog park for a bit, or take a long walk along Alki Beach or Seahurst Park just to ensure that they're truly tuckered out. Your dog's sleeping arrangement: We have a pretty sizable home, so there are a few places we could make your pup's own during the stay, depending on where they prefer to sleep. Our own dogs sleep in kennels in a separate bedroom. Our only request if your pup is coming to stay with us is that they don't sleep on the human's bed. If your pup prefers to sleep in the bed with you, house sitting may be a better option for everyone! Time I'll spend with your dog As much as possible! My fiancé and I have full time jobs, and I work from home. We're home-bodies, so we don't leave the pups alone very often. If your dog needs a special care plan, we might be able to be flexible (work from your home, stop by for more breaks during the day, etc) - just let me know.

My fiancé and I work from home, so someone will be around to keep your pup company throughout the day, as well as provide frequent potty breaks, if needed. We have 2 dogs ourselves, so any dogs coming to stay in our home would need to get along with our pups for a good, stress-free stay. We don't do much after work - we're pretty much home-bodies who enjoy hanging out with our own fur babies & furry friends. We do occasionally go out on the weekends, but can always change our schedule depending on your pet's needs.
