Unfortunately, we were disappointed by our pup’s stay with Vanessa. While we’re thankful he’s healthy now, however there were some concerns regarding how Vanessa cared for our dog while we were away. She was provided with detailed care instructions and it felt like each instruction was disregarded. She fed him dog food that wasn’t his (he has tummy problems when eating other food) and did not put him in his crate to sleep. She did not communicate with us and we had to reach out to see how things were going. Upon reaching out requesting pictures, she said she would take them later and it took hours for her to send. We got short answers throughout his stay such as “he’s good!” Come to find out afterwards, our dog wasn’t eating or sleeping well. We just wish that when we asked Vanessa how everything was going that she would have communicated what was going on rather than switching his dog food and letting him sleep out of his crate. She said she assumed he was fed out of hand (?) when it would have been so appreciated if she asked if it was normal our pup was a finicky eater (when we told her how food motivated he was). Vanessa mentioned our dog would be the only one staying with them for the weekend. She met us outside and when we went inside her house there was another dog there. Again, not a problem, but wish she was honest in her communication. After finding these things out after our dogs stay and expressing that we were bummed by her lack of communication (our dog’s stool was not normal after his stay so we asked follow up questions), she sent laughing faces and did not even apologize. Also, our leash came back ripped.

Vanessa was great! She walked and fed my dog while I went on a short vacation. She was on time and fed him after each of his walks. She also send me updates and video of him daily. I would highly recommend her.
