Experienced Veterinary Technician

Pet care experience

I put myself through school to care for animals because they are my passion in life. I can offer a safe, warm home, with a lot of love to give. I have experience with all different breeds, big and small, and the patience to go with it. Your pets will become part of our family for however long they are with us, and hopefully even after ;). If your pet requires special care or has medical needs, I am experienced in administration of oral and injectable medications and able to identify when pets need medical attention. I am home throughout the day, every day, so your pet will rarely be alone for long. We have different styles of boarding techniques and our number one priority is to safely help your pet feel at home. To feel safe, secure, and loved. I have worked as a licensed veterinary technician for over 10 years and still could not imagine life without my cats and dogs. I run a foster care/ rescue home for cats from my home, and work with local spay and neutering programs in our community. I have two dogs and two cats of my own and the cats are very dog savvy with all visitors. They know from the minute the dog walks through the door if they can be trusted, LOL. My daughters are 3 and 15 years old and are understanding and respectful of animals. If your pet is not so fond of kids, we can work around that too. If you have a puppy, this is a great home for obedience, socialization, and consistency. Please consider our family to help care for yours! About this sitter: If you have an animal that is too anxious to leave your home, or can't leave your home, I will come to them. I have experience with cats, dogs, rabbits, pocket pets, amphibians, birds, and fish. Being a veterinary technician, I love to care for, and get to know, all animals. I will come care for your pet at least once per day, up to four times per day, to spend time playing with and getting to know each pet. If I am needed to make more than one visit per day, I am available to do that for an additional, but reduced fee. Why I love dog sitting I have worked in the veterinary field for over 10 years now and nothing has brought me more pleasure than working closely with families and getting to know their furry family members through pet boarding and care taking. I have been a dog and animal lover my whole life and I went to school to become a veterinary technician so I could work as a trusted professional in our community. I am living the dream currently through Rover! Meet my pets We have two female Bullmastiffs. Rose is about 7 years old. She is very friendly with everyone and has never been part of an awkward or dangerous situation. She is the best of the breed and loves everyone, as Bullmastiffs do. She is crate trained and my baby. My other Bullmastiff is Ganymede, a 3 year old, and has been very well socialized. They have grown up in the environment of animals and people coming and going. They thinks that everyone that comes over is here to play with them and are very much still puppies at mind and heart. I have two male cats that are 8 years old. My DSH seal point is Rabbit, Bunny Rabbit Frances to be exact, and our DMH Manx mix is Little John, though not so little. They both are very respectful of dogs and will leave them alone if that is either ones preference. They know the moment a dog visitor walks through the door, if they can trust them or not. If they get to know each other and accept each other, they will groom your dog, if your dog permits it ;) About my yard We have just under a quarter acre with a fully fenced back yard. The area is mostly grass with some cement patio present. It is dog friendly with a level playing area and room to run. We also have beautiful walking trails to Hazeldale dog park right behind our property. My experience administering medication I am a licensed veterinary technician and have been trained in the administration of drugs orally, IV, SQ, IM, and ID. I am comfortable with any medical concerns if the dog is comfortable with me doing it.

Vanessa did a great job checking in on my two cats! She sent very cute pictures and it made me feel so relieved that someone was there giving the cats attention while we were gone. Would definitely use her again! 😊

Information Vanessa G. would like to know about your pet

I am in love with Bullmastiffs, but I appreciate all breeds for their individual qualities and characteristics. I will need to know how their dogs responds to other dogs, cats, children, etc. We will discuss behaviors such as when left alone, on leash, strangers, at dog parks, etc. I will also need to know of any medical concerns and eating habits. Questions about a potential stay will be based somewhat on an individual basis.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks I will mostly walk around our Beaverton neighborhood since we have parks and walking trails nearby and beautiful, quiet streets. If it is an extended stay and we are not booked full, I would like to go to other nature parks and trails too. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Your dog will sleep where he or she is most comfortable, with safety in mind at all times. If you do not want your dog on the furniture, we won't permit it. But, if you don't mind, that is where they will be welcome. We provide over-sized and different styles of dog beds as well. Crates are ideal for bed time and when I leave the home for short periods, but not necessarily required. Time I'll spend with your dog I will be home throughout the day, seven days a week, specifically to focus on being available to you and your pets and to provide the best care possible!
