Pet care experience
I will devote my time to play, run and walk! But mostly, I will treat and communicate with your dog as if he/she is a person, and will make sure that your "furry" baby gets all my love, care and attention. I work from home, so your dog will always have company, or will never be left alone for long periods of time. I do not have a pet of my own, but after losing my cat in 2015, I feel the need to "give back" to animals before I get my own pet again. I used to have a dachshund growing up, and have recently started dog-sitting my neighbor's shih-tzu. I am also very familiar with the other dogs in my neighborhood, as well as their owners.

Valerie took wonderful care of our 12 year old male pekingese dog, Puff. She is very caring and meticulous when it came to following Puff's complicated medication schedule which involved nearly two weeks of pill organizers and eye drops. She and her husband welcomed Puff into their home and were very patient while waiting for Puff to adjust to his new environment. Puff came home to us in good health and quite happy. It was like we were never away. I highly recommend Valerie to care for your beloved pet.
Valarie was as terrific as her reviews predicted! She was so great with our special dog, Oscar ... sending periodic updates and some of the best pictures we have of him! Oscar, who is incredibly timid (a rescue) was initially trembling at the idea of a new place but when Valarie took him in her arms, he immediately relaxed! We think he just knew he was in good hands. He was taken on numerous walks (which he loves) even in rainy weather. One thing that we really appreciated was Valarie's incredible flexibility about our timing as it was tied to our need to take NJ Transit that day! We highly recommend anyone to have the Valarie experience!
Valerie just watched my pup in her home for 5 days and I could not be happier! She took care of him as if he was her own - lots of walks and funtime and car rides and in general loving care. She sent plenty of pics and updates. Luca can't wait for his next "vacation" with Valerie! Thank you!!!

I do not have a breed preference, but would prefer a dog that gets along with other dogs since there are other dogs in my neighborhood, and they are very sociable with each other. Please note that I will not take a dog that is not house/potty trained. I also do not take last minute bookings, or bookings without a meet and greet (unless you are a previous client).
A typical day
I will walk your pet in my neighborood, which is a dog friendly residential area. Additionally, I will take your dog to nearby parks and/or the beach (with your permission of course). Otherwise, I will supervise your dog at all times in my fully fenced backyard. Since I am a crafts person (specializing in crochet), I hand-make soft toys, so your dog will have plenty of toys to keep him/her entertained. Your dog is allowed on our couch and we invite him/her to join us when we watch TV in the evenings. I also work from home, so your dog will have plenty of attention from us and will receive copious amounts of TLC.
