I’m currently not working so I have quite an open schedule! I’ve been a teacher for 21 years and I’m taking a break to do what I love…spending time with my girl, Abby, volunteering at Save-A-Pet, and helping people out by walking their dogs!

I’m not able to have pets in my home because Abby doesn’t get along well with other dogs. I’m happy to do whatever a client wants me to do with their pet! I live a very active lifestyle, so if your pet needs to go for a few miles run not a problem! Also happy to just give scratches and make your pet feel comfortable while you’re away!

A typical day
A typical day varies for every dog client I have! Some of my clients need enriching outdoor experiences and exercise, while others just need to be let out to do their business and then play inside/get lots of TLC!

Pet care experience
I have a lot of experience working with a reactive and anxious rescue pit-bull mix…my sweet baby girl, Abby!! It’s been a process but she’s made huge strides! So I’m quite familiar with having to be extremely vigilant on walks, training treats on hand, knowing when to cross the street to avoid triggers…etc. I fostered an adorable blue nose pitbull puppy! I house trained him and worked with him for a year. That was one of the hardest things I ever had to do…let that handsome boy go to his forever home! I also had a dog when I was growing up. The only way we were going to get her was if I was willing to take most of the care of her and I happily obliged! I was also the pet sitter in the neighborhood. I love all dogs!

Valerie was absolutely amazing with my two dogs, who have very different personalities! She immediately picked up on their unique traits and made both of them feel comfortable and cared for. What really stood out to me was how genuine she was — many sitters act one way in front of owners and another when you’re gone, but Valerie showed up full of energy and excitement to make sure my dogs were happy and loved. She was so patient with Drax, who struggles when I leave for work, and she kept me updated throughout the visit, reaching out with questions when needed. She met Kosmo with the same level of enthusiasm and care, and it’s clear they both adore her. Valerie never left the dogs unattended and made sure their routines were followed perfectly. It’s such a relief knowing they’re in great hands while I’m away. I can’t recommend her highly enough — she truly provides top-notch care!
I have known Valerie for over a decade now as a friend and previous co-worker. One thing I know about her is... she LOVES dogs. Not just her own, but ANY dog. If your dog is lucky enough to be in her care, it will be spoiled and well taken care of! She's responsible, caring, has a huge heart, and truly loves animals. I wish her dog, Abby, could write a testimonial because it would read something like, "My mom loves to take me on long runs and walks in nature. Sometimes I get tired, so she pushes me in a buggy, but just getting outside to enjoy the fresh air does me so much good. My mom is loving, nurturing, and will take GREAT care of your dog because she takes wonderful care of me!"
