I was so looking forward to having my dogs cared for in my home and so was incredibly dismayed to come home and find that a number of things had been destroyed by my dogs. A wooden dog gate separating an area of my home from the area my dogs are allowed in was almost completely chewed through. In addition, the wooden crate holding my dogs' toys was chewed significantly. I've only been home a short while, so there may be more damage I haven't yet discovered. Maybe it was because my dogs were distressed that we weren't home, but these things had never been chewed before. Given that the dogs were crated when Tyler was not at my home, I can only assume that the damage was done while he was there with them. I have no way of knowing whether my dogs were walked in my absence or whether they received enough attention to prevent the behaviors that resulted in the damage, but, given that damage like this had never happened before, I can only assume that they were not adequately attended. Tyler seemed like a responsible young man. I had high hopes, but they were not borne out.
