Ive always had 2 dogs. Ive had small and large dogs. I have had the following dogs: standard poodle, german shepherd, collie, and chihuahua. I have worked with other breeds though. I also have experience with animals that are timid. I know how to correctly approach a dog. I have dogsit, drop in, or walk my friend's dogs prior to Rover. I always bring water for you dog while walking! Would you like it if you went on a walk with no drink available? I know i would not like that. Your dogs health is extremely important to me, especially staying hydrated during the summer! Also, considering i am entering their territory without you present I always talk to the dog while I'm opening the door so this way they recognize who it is. I have had one client who absolutely loved my work and how their timid dog reacted towards me that now we are friends and we even have our dogs go on play dates! Here are some questions you might have: "How did you discover Rover and what made you decide to do Rover" Honestly, i saw a Facebook promotion about Rover and thought that is the perfect job for me! "What do you like best about Rover?" As a dog owner myself, I appreciate the fact the walkers do a background check because i know leaving a complete stranger with your dogs is hard enough the way it is "Do you walk multiple dogs together or one at a time?" Only your dogs will be with me at that time, but even then it will determine if they walk well together or not. If not then i will walk each one separately. I have a double leash i can bring. "How long will you spend with my dog on each walk?" Depending on your dogs needs. I can walk them for 10 minutes and spend the remaining time booked playing with them or i can walk them however long you/they want. "Have you participated in any pet-care training, such as pet first aid?" I have take dog training at Petsmart prior to Rover. Any other questions feel free to ask!
