Trudy's Paw Spa - Dogs are life!

Pet care experience

I have had over 42 years experience in primary care of dogs, cats and farm animals. Horses and Dogs hold a special place in my heart and my life! I am located on the outskirts of Rogers on a quiet, private, 12 acre farm where I am fortunate to be able to fulfill my doggy desires with grooming in the store a mere 15 feet from the house. When not grooming a client I am usually found playing with the dogs either in the fenced back yard or inside my home. I have been boarding dogs through Country Pet since 2002 as well as fostering since 2013 with Ruff Start Rescue. Many many happy (and pleasantly tired after the stay) pups have come through here over the years and they all are treated as one of the family. The lower level family room is wide open for play when it is too crummy (buggy, hot, rainy, cold...) outside for play and the house is easily gated off if some of the visitors require their own "space". This doesn't happen often, but it is workable for those who don't like to socialize. A typical day is getting up out of bed with us at 5 - 6 am, potty time and breakfast by 6:30 at the latest (YOU provide your own food so that your pup doesn't get an upset stomach either here or when returning home). Hand feeding the finicky eaters is done as necessary and everyone has their own space for eating - separated by bedrooms/door so that they don't get into anyone else's food! Then it's back to play time and potty breaks as the pups want. Some like to go out and play a lot, others (seniors or those who think they are human) tend to want to stick to us or hang out on our bed. The downstairs is carpeted for good traction, the living area upstairs has laminate flooring with Doggone Good 6' runners spread throughout the house for those who don't know how to get around on the 'slippery stuff'. There is a basket of toys in each main room for the fur kids to pick through at their leisure and we love to spend time in the backyard (summer with the wading pool) playing fetch or just hanging out! The fur kids get to watch the chickens, horses and farm kitties on the other side of the chain link fence and most are in awe of seeing their "first horse" Lol - it is quite funny much of the time! There are Kuranda cots and dog beds strategically placed throughout my home so anyone can curl up and nap anytime they desire! We call it quits/quiet time about 9 to 9:30 pm and the pups, myself and my animal loving daughter retire to our respective bedrooms after we have figured out who will sleep best with who! Your pup is certainly welcome to share our beds, or if you desire them crated please let me know. Due to Rescue experience I do have many different sizes & styles of crates that are disassembled but can be easily put together for your pups stay. We will be more than happy to put down a pillow for your baby next to the bed if you prefer they not sleep on the bed. !!!! As there is the store on the premises for grooming and retail delivery & pups/critters are "our thing" we much prefer to keep Sunday's & the 5 major Holidays as a family/fur/no electronics day. As such we only do pickups if totally necessary from 8 to 9 pm. BY APPT ONLY) ☆Pickups at any time on Sunday's ARE charged for the entire day☆ !!!! If you need you fur baby picked up or dropped off on Sundays/Holidays outside of those hours, I'm probably not a good choice for you. I need one day a week for human rejuvenation & family only..... dogs are GREAT!, they are mentally/emotionally healing & both my daughters are huge animal lovers too. (I REALLY don't do phones on Sundays or Holidays) Appointments are preferred & greatly appreciated for drop off & pick up. 8 am to 8 pm Monday thru Saturday are generally very easily accommodated. All visitors must be current on their shots, specifically Bordatella in the last 12 months and Rabies in the last 3 years -- unless you have a vets written reason as to why your pup should not have shots. Distemper shot has to be within 3 years and once your fur kid has reached the age of 8, with regular vaccinations, we do not require another DHPP. Unless puppy age then I require neuter FOR SURE & prefer spayed females. Fun is to be had by all and I guarantee they will go home "pooped" and happy! References gladly provided as well. I would love the opportunity to be entrusted with your fur family member(s) so they may enjoy their own vacation while you have to be away. Thanks for checking us out!

Trudy is fantastic, we had a last minute request booking and Trudy was willing to work out the schedule with us. Our boy Tommy had a great time during his stay with her. We will definitely using her services again in the future.

Trudy did an excellent job caring for Lexi while we were on a short trip. I got daily updates with pictures on how she was doing. Lexi was happy and well cared for.

I feel super-comfortable leaving our dogs with Trudy! I know they enjoy running around in the yard with other dogs, I imagine to them it is like a week of non-stop dog park. Trudy is great to work with and is flexible with drop off and pick up, which I really appreciate. Its been an easy, worry-free experience the multiple times we've had the dogs stay with Trudy - highly recommend!

Information Trudy R. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your dog has any special needs, we are happy to accommodate. I do appreciate confirmation that your pup is up to date with Rabies, Distemper and Bordatella. I prefer no non neutered males as they tend to mark in my home. If your dog needs special attention at mealtimes (a finicky eater) we are happy to cater to that. If your dog is a fence jumper that information is mandatory !! We can easily watch them but a warning is a must.

A typical day

Summertime we have a wading pool for them to play in plus we love playing fetch if that is something your pup likes. Our dogs love company and play well with guests of any size, age or breed.
