Lake + DOG PARK + fenced back yard!

Pet care experience

Hello, my name is Troy. I have a spacious place in south Minneapolis' Kingfield neighborhood--really close to the Lyndale Farmstead Dog Park and Lake Harriet. I enjoy giving dogs a vacation away from home and spoiling furry friends with attention! Rover is a hobby of love for me. I only host one animal at a time. Your dog can totally relax and make themselves at home at my place-- they are welcome on the bed and furniture. I work from home full-time and enjoy getting out (rain or shine) for AM strolls in the neighborhood, lunch-hour walks around Lake Harriet, and/or off-leash dog park time in the evenings (assuming you're comfortable with that!). If you have a moderate-to-high-energy dog, this is a great spot for them! If your dog likes to sleep in a kennel overnight, I have a dedicated room. You're welcome to use one of my kennels (with clean, fresh bedding) or bring your own. My fenced backyard is perfect for frequent potty breaks and burning off extra energy throughout the day. I've also been the proud owner of several special needs dogs and cats over the years. I am comfortable with puppies, elderly dogs, high-energy dogs, following specific feeding instructions, administering medications, and cleaning up messes (they don't phase me!). COMMUNICATION: I'm a hobby photographer and LOVE taking pictures and sending you lots of updates. I enjoy sending these messages so you can see how your loved one is doing, but I also know you're really busy and never expect a response. Above all else, I treat your dog like it's my own. I've also really enjoyed getting to know owners and using Rover as a way to build community. I was previously on this platform with my partner. We've now split, so now here I am with a new profile of my own! I am so grateful for this opportunity to connect with you and care for your pet. I really hope you'll reach out, and I look forward to chatting with you!

Safety, trust & environment

A SAFE AND TRUSTING ENVIRONMENT: As stated, I'm responsive and proactive in communication. My fenced yard and close proximity to parks and walking trails means your dog can get all the exercise they need. I also love playing indoors with toys and providing lots of cuddle time and affection. Becasue I only board/dog sit/housit one animal at a time, you can be assured that when I say I treat your pet as my own, I truly mean it! (I've mentioned that I host one dog at a time. Wanted to briefly say that I have noticed there are occasionally periods with a little schedule "overlap" between a dog I'm spending time with during daycare and another friend getting dropped off for evening boarding. Normally, this is super fun for both dogs! But, of course, every dog is different, and we can be sure to chat about your preferences when we have a meet & greet!)

What's their favorite way to play? Are you comfortable with off-leash time at the dog park? Are there any special considerations around diet, medications, temperament, etc?
