Constant Comfort and Care
Pet care experience
My partner and I, along with our dog Harley have welcomed pups into our home for 4 years now. We love our pups that visit with us regularly, and we always look forward to meeting new guests. Harley has become such a great host himself. He is super submissive and affectionate. He is absolutely spoiled with love, as your dog will be here in our home. We live in a row house and all three floors are thoroughly used, and the dogs are free to roam. For overnight guests we go for at least 3 walks a day, some longer than others. And for day care visitors, we go on 2-3 walks a day. We have dog friendly furniture, and a gated in back yard and deck.
Reviews
I am really disappointed and distressed after using Tre and Rodney (it really is just Tre, as the review below will explain) to care for my one-year old dog, Frankie. Frankie stayed with them for a week and we got two updates the entire time despite requesting daily updates and pictures, which he assured us he would give. When I dropped Frankie off, I noticed that the house smelled like urine - it was choking. I assumed his dog (who I later learned was not even there) had recently had an accident, as I know the smell can linger, but that was the first red flag. When I picked Frankie up yesterday, the scent from the house was choking and she had picked it up. Her entire coat REAKS of urine and smoke. Her crate and crate bed were also covered in wet urine (she had clearly JUST had an accident) and smelled like she had peed in it several times. Frankie has been crate trained since she was 11 weeks old and she has never had an accident in her crate. Additionally, Frankie works with a private trainer who went over three times that week to take her out and work with her. All three times she said it was clear she woke Tre (the sitter) up despite the training sessions being at noon. And, she said he was also clearly woken up when she returned with Frankie an hour later. Additionally, when we went to pick up Frankie, I texted two hours before we arrived, then when our flight landed, then when we were on the way from the airport, and I did not hear back. Then, when I knocked on the door, I heard Frankie bark, a male voice yell at her, and then no one came to the door. I knocked again thinking maybe they did not hear me and still no one came to the door. I saw a man sitting on the couch from the front window, but he did not move. Finally, after several texts and calls over about 10 minutes, Tre texted back and said he was not home but would be in 10 minutes. I asked who was home with Frankie and if they could bring her out, as we were in a rush to get home. He said it's his partner, Rodney, who "does not handle drop offs and pick ups". At this point I was concerned and wanted to get Frankie out of the situation. I knocked on the door again and the man in the living room made eye contact with me and immediately looked down at his phone again - refusing to bring Frankie out even after I said I did not need her things, please just bring the dog to the front door. Tre did finally come out with Frankie after 15 minutes. I am cautious of making assumptions, especially when it is hard to know what is true, but it appeared like Tre was high when he finally did come to the door. Additionally, I had sent Purina Calming Care with Frankie, a daily probiotic she takes that can help her anxiety. She is supposed to get one packet a day (as the instructions I left them and the box tell them) but it's clear they gave her at least two per day given the amount left in the box. I also sent 3 days of extra food in case of emergency, bags of treats that certainly should have lasted over a week, and bones that also should have lasted more than a week (with strict instructions to give her no more than two per day) - NONE of these things were returned with her. The whole situation left me feeling really uncomfortable and uneasy. I would strongly suggest anyone considering using these sitters not to do so and honestly believe they should be removed from Rover. I believe they neglect the animals that come into their home - there is no way Frankie was regularly walked given the state of the crate and her bed (I had to throw both away). Save yourself the fear and concern and find a different sitter. I hope Rover considers banning them from the platform.
Tre and Rodney were amazing host to my pup baby. Upon arrival Jett felt right at home, as he walked right in with no hesitation (even though it was his first visit). That made my husband and I feel so comfortable. We didn’t worry about him during the holiday. I checked in with Tre and he gave a thorough update about Jett and I loved that as well. I highly recommend using them. Thanks again!
I am pretty disappointed with Tre and Rodney. I just don’t get the sense that they cared that much? I don’t even know if it was Tre or Rodney who opened the door when I dropped off my dog because he never introduced himself. Their profile indicated that they had a Yorky who was very submissive, which is cool because my dog is afraid of assertive dogs. But when I arrived to drop her off there was a French bulldog there. He seemed to be pretty sweet so I figured it was OK, even though I hadn’t been told there would be another dog. I only got limited updates and only after I messaged to ask how she was doing. After my trip I arrived to pick my dog at 10 AM as we had agreed. When I got there nobody was home because they were dropping off another dog. I know this was not the French bulldog because I was told at some point that he had gone home already. I have no idea how well my dog got along with this third dog. I would have liked to know about other dogs because, like I said, my dog can be fearful around certain types of dogs. And when I was able to bring her home it was apparent she had not been fed or walked that morning. I wasn’t told that, of course. Her stuff was not packed up and ready to go and he didn’t seem to know what stuff belonged to what dog. She also came home with diarrhea and a scab on a sore leg. So either another dog bit her or maybe she was left unsupervised in their backyard? But I was not told about any injury to her leg. And she has a very robust digestive system so I don’t know what she ate. So needless to say I will not use them again.
They are simply the best, they were always in contact with us and giving us information about the status of our puppies, my dogs look very happy and it feels like they were great treated with Tre and Rodney.
