Responsible Dog Lover

Pet care experience

I am in my late 20's and have had a passion for dogs all my life. Through both dog ownership and caring for the dogs of friends and family I have grown to greatly enjoy spending time taking care of dogs. There aren't many things in life that I would rank higher than seeing a happy dog. I live in an apartment in Salem. I do not have a dedicated yard, but our community has lots of green space to explore on leash. We also frequently visit the Minto-Brown Island Park which has ample trails and room to roam (though I don't do off-leash activities with clients' dogs). I have one dog of my own -- Charlie is a 3 year old Beagle. Charlie is a total sweetheart and absolutely loves to run around and play with other dogs. She has never met a human or dog that she doesn't love. I have no kids. I also work full time during the week and therefore am away from home from 7AM until 4PM Monday through Friday. I do come home everyday during lunchtime for approximately an hour to let the dog(s) out and run around for a bit. Since I work during the week, if your dog will be staying at my house during the week they will need to be able to be alone for at least a few hours at a time. I have my weekends completely free and am available to spend as much time and do as many activities with your dog as they will allow. If your dog is not staying with me I will not be available for drop-in visits from 7AM to 11AM or from 1PM to 5PM during the week due to work. Again, my weekends are completely open so I can do drop-in visits any time. I do like to meet (both dog and owner) before any potential stays or drop-in visits just to make sure everyone is comfortable and gets along well. Also, I will happily take photos of your pet and send them to you regularly so you can see how they're doing while you're away. Overall, I do this primarily for fun and consider it very rewarding to look after and spend time with your dog. I would be happy to discuss any additional questions you might have before booking. Thanks for reading!

Travis was really respectful and courteous. Him and his dog Charlie made the stay for our two dogs pleasent and comfortable. He updated us frequently and also sent us photos. We will definitely chose Travis and Charlie again when we need someone to take care of our doggies.

Dewey had so much fun with Travis and Charlie. Travis is great at sending pictures throughout the stay. He is very flexible with pick up and drop off. Dewey is already looking forward to his next stay.

Travis was a wonderful dog sitter for my 10 month boxer puppy. He went out of his way to pick up my Pup so I could get my vacation started sooner! He sent great pics and kept me updated during my dog's stay. I will definitely use Travis again

Travis has had a love for animals his entire life, so it only seems fitting that he wants to help take care of your dog while you are away from home. Being away from your dog may be difficult, but you are in excellent hands with Travis. He has interest and experience with dogs of all sizes, behavioral needs, and ages. Travis is a thoughtful, dependable, kind and trustworthy person, so you can count on him to take care of your pet and home while you are away.

Information Travis L. would like to know about your pet

No breed preferences. Must be friendly with other dogs, as I have two of my own. I have some experience dealing with reactive dogs so that can be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

A typical day

Primarily lots of long walks and playtime with toys (with or without my own personal dogs). I am always willing to listen to alternatives as well depending on the wants/needs of your specific dog. I also am involved with Nosework and would love to play these types of games with your dog if that is something they would enjoy.
