My husband and I are in our 40's and are dogs are our kids. We have owned dogs our entire lives. I have worked in the veterinary industry for over 20 years and we have a 13,000 sq. ft. lot with a 6' privacy fence. We are home bodies and like to just chill reading or playing video games when we are home. Mike and I have been married for over twenty years and we just built this house with the dogs comfort as a focus point. We are in a quiet neighborhood where most the neighbors also own dogs. We specialize in bully breeds, but have fostered almost every breed and mix available. We have fostered hundreds of dogs & puppies for Midwest Animal Rescue & Services (MARS) over the last 6+ years and thought we would try Rover for a while. Mike and I both work business hours, so the dogs are kept in the spacious "dog room", in large runs for approx 8-9 hours a day during the week. You will be able to view your puppies in the kennel room via D-Link cameras and even talk to them. We request that all pick-ups and drop offs occur during non-business hours. (Business hours transfers can be accommodated, but may be greeted by a family member or friend if I am unable to leave the office.) We feed the dogs in their runs, so there is no food aggression or stealing issues (because we all know what s/he has is better than mine…). You will need to provide enough food for the duration of your pets stay; we will provide the love, beds, dishes, snuggles, treats and toys! We require all our guests be up to date on Rabies and will require a copy of the certificate or receipt from your vet (can be emailed, faxed or hand delivered). We highly recommend that your pet is also vaccinated for DHPP and Bordetella (Kennel Cough) as well. We only take dogs from one family at a time. We also request you take the time to fill out the “extended profile” of your dog(s), so that we can better take care of them while you are away. Our four dogs are very friendly and may take a little getting used to for a new arrival, but they always mellow and are all best of friends within a few hours. We have a cat that is rarely in the main areas, and mostly hangs out on the front porch. The chances of your dog(s) even seeing Emmett, is unlikely.
