We are pet lovers who have a pet friendly home

Pet care experience

We have two dogs, Dolly is a Border Collie/Walker Coon Hound Mix and Chica is a Pekingese/Pittbull mix and we had a cat named Oreo who we had to have put to sleep earlier this year. Our house is definitely pet friendly we have a big fenced in backyard that Dolly and Chica love to run around in and chase the bunnies and the squirrels. We love animals and your pet would definitely be well cared for.

I had booked a stay with Toni on October 25th to the 27th. I had been led to believe that the back yard was completely secure by Toni & her husband. I picked Toni because of the fenced in yard. To me this was to insure my dog didn't get disoriented being in a strange place and wander off looking for us. (Sandy is 11 yrs old & has cateracts) Well I dropped Sandy off @2pm on the 25th and on the 26th @1:45pm I received a phone call from the Monroeville police department telling me they had my dog. She had been found wandering around on a very busy street by a neighbor and they called the police not wanting to call the dog catcher. Mind you this call came in to me LESS THAN 24 hours after I dropped my beloved dog off at the sitter! I was in the mid-west taking care of very stressful personal business, then to have to deal with this too. I phoned Toni right away and had to leave a message she didn't even know my dog was missing when I called. She called me back and told me that she thought Sandy was hiding somewhere in the yard and she then told me that 'she must have gotten out through part of the fence' she apparently knew the yard was not completely secure as she told me it was! Toni even made sure to get my cell phone number again when I dropped off my dog. I received not one update on my dog either. Then to top it all off when I picked her up as soon as I got back in town Toni told me that my dog didn't eat all weekend! If she had cared at all I feel she should have phoned me to tell me this. If she had I could have told her what to do to get her eating. But Toni chose to not do anything and just let her go. When I picked her up my dog, Sandy acted like she had been abused, fearful with her head and tail down as she came out of the house. Then when I got her home I filled her water bowl and Sandy drank down two full bowls of water like she had been without water all weekend. She then started to eat slowly and carefully. It took my dog 4 or 5 days to start acting normal again. I contacted Rover about what had gone on and after much review Rover agreed with me that Toni did not deserve to get paid for the horrible care she took of my dog. I am sure if you are looking for a qualified sitter you can find one that will actually care for your dog while you are away. My advise is to keep looking don't stop here!

We felt very comfortable leaving our dog with Toni. I knew he was going to have plenty of attention and he loved having a dog-friend to play with. If your dog likes to be outdoors, this is the place!

Why I love dog sitting I have always had a dog ever since I was a kid. Dolly is the second dog that we have owned our first dog Sami was a medium size Beagle Collie Mix that we got when she was a puppy. She loved catching frisbee in our backyard we had to put her to sleep because she was older and got sick and we did not want her to suffer. We missed her very much and the kids wanted to get another dog so we went to the shelter and adopted Dolly and we have had her ever since. Chica is my son's dog and he brought her with him whenhe moved back in with us.

Information Toni C. would like to know about your pet

We don't have any breed preferences. We would just like to know if there any behaviors that we should know about and if they get along with other dogs. We would also like to know about their routine, if you take them for walks or are they just happy running around in the yard. Are they afraid of anything (our Dolly is very afraid of thunderstorms and fireworks) and if there is anything that they don't like.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks We live very close to Boyce Park so we would take them on the trials there or on the ski slopes Your dog's sleeping arrangement In the bedroom with us our dog sleeps in her bed on the floor beside our bed Time I'll spend with your dog Your dog will be part of our family and there is always someone home at our house so your pet will never be alone.
