I'm a trustworthy, reliable medical professional who loves and has experience caring for dogs, cats, and a variety of small animals (e.g. fish, rabbits, rodents, reptiles, amphibians, birds...). I am comfortable and experienced working with dogs ranging from 1lb to 200+ lbs. I'm comfortable caring for puppies, older dogs, special needs dogs, highly intelligent dogs, and high energy dogs. I'm especially comfortable working with shy rescue dogs, such as the adorable boxer in my picture. And as such I understand how important trust, patience, and consistency is. Aside from a huge love of animals, I also have experience with housesitting, gardening, and extensive experience as a caregiver for humans/working with individuals with disabilities. My career and professional practice licensure require regular and extensive caregiver background checks. I also have reliable transportation, and I am a non-smoker. I would love to have the opportunity to get to know you and your pets, even if they are unusual or exotic pets, and see if there is anything I can do to help or make your life easier. My schedule is currently very flexible and includes both weekday and weekend availability. About Us: • Jenny is a shy, lovely rescue Boxer who originally came from a puppy mill situation. Everyone, both human and dog, loves her. • Nala our is our spunky rescue puppy. She is mixed-breed boxer, but mostly boxer and american bulldog. • Jeremy, the other human here, works for Mayo. He is a HUGE dog lover and has rescued many dogs over the years. He's got a huge sweet spot for Boxers, Bull Dogs, puppies in general, & any dog that snorts or has wrinkles/rolls. Focus on Safety: • Insured & bonded business. • All puppies and dogs in my care are selected based on temperament and vaccination/health records. I do no work with owners who who misrepresent their dog's temperament, or who fail to provide sufficient information/records on their dog(s). •. Our home is cleaned and maintained on a daily basis. This includes daily yard cleanup, vacuuming, carpet cleaning, surface cleaning, washing bowls/bedding/toys.. You name it. • I maintain certification in Basic Life Support (healthcare provider CPR & AED) and certification in First Aide through American Heart Association. • I completed a first aid & CPR class specific to dogs & cats. I also plan to do continue my research/education on these topics. In the unlikely chance that a dog in my care should become injured/ill, I want to be prepared to provide quality, immediate assistance. • I keep a dog-specific first aid kit, a human-specific first aid kit, seasonal emergency gear, fresh drinking water & a dog bowl in my car at all times. I also carry a small dog first-aid kit with me on walks. • Our house is only 0.7 miles (4 minute drive) away from the nearest veterinarian clinic. There are 5 veterinarian clinics within a 3 mile radius of us, including emergency vet services. We have established relationships with a couple of different, trusted veterinarians near us. So rest assured that, in the unlikely event of an emergency, your fur child would get access to quality care very quickly. • I have reliable transportation with snow tires, and reliable back-up transportation. I am able to safely transport pets to appropriate medical care as needed, and you can rely on me to provide safe, consistent animal care in your home. • In the event of an emergency, dangerous weather, or a natural disaster you can count on me to do my best to communicate, coordinate, and work with you to make sure your pets are safe, comfortable, and well cared for. Our Home • 3 bedroom house, with a dedicated "dog bedroom." This room is filled with tons of bones, rubber chew toys, and plush dog toys. This is where Jenny's kennel is and where our spare, medium-sized kennel is kept. • Fully fenced-in back yard for potty breaks, fetch, and safe playtime outdoors. • Very friendly, diverse neighborhood with lots of loving dog owners and knowledgeable medical professionals. It is an excellent neighborhood to walk/socialize young puppies due to the varied, yet friendly, demographic. Our Location: • We are only 0.7 Miles (a 4 minute drive) from the nearest veterinary clinic. There are 5 veterinarian clinics within a 3 mile radius of us, including emergency vet services that we have previously utilized with our dogs. • We are 4 miles NW of the Mayo Clinic & downtown Rochester. It is a very easy 8-10 minute drive by car. • We are 2.5 miles from a beautiful dog park. This park has 3 fully-fenced areas: one area that is usually busier and two that are more calm/open. • We are within 3 miles of 20+ parks, including some of our favorite places to hike with dogs. • Both myself & Jeremy are from this area, so we are full of recommendations of fun places/things to do, both with and without your fur kids. Boarding & Daycare Details: • Drop-off and pick-up times need to be scheduled with me prior to booking. • Regular pickup and drop-off hours are between 7-10am and 3-6pm. • Requests outside of these hours will be considered on a case-by-case basis. • Dog transportation to/from your home may be available. This can be especially helpful for those with long/unusual work hours. Housesitting Details: • Due to the nature of my work (e.g. doggy daycare, daytime drop-ins, etc.), my usual housesitting rate includes an overnight stay only. • Any additional day-time drop-ins will need to be booked separately. • Daytime or evening house sits of a shorter duration will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
