Pet care experience
I've had family dogs of all kinds growing up. I've also aided my mom in her own foster care, this gave me a chance in learning about, taking care of, and slightly training dogs that have one or more "short comings". I helped a dog that suffered from anxiety, PTSD, and even depression. She hated males, barked at cars going down the road from inside a 2nd story apartment, and even scarfed down her food thinking that we'd take it away if she didnt eat it fast enough. Even after just a couple days working with her, she started shedding less, didn't seem as nervous about our day to day activities, and even started playing with us as every growing dog should. I hope to bring the same amount of care and liveliness to the time I spend with your dog!
Reviews
Thomas loves and is experienced with all sizes of dogs - from extra small to Great Danes. His experience with dogs started in grade school with our first dog, a Miniature Aussie. One thing Thomas learned very quickly was if a dog is chewing on something they shouldn't, give them something they can. Antlers were our preferred chewing item along with mentally stimulating toys. Later in life, Thomas helped me rehabilitate several foster dogs - some with more issues than others, but mostly lack of socialization with people. Thomas understands the importance of feeding dogs seperately, healthy and positive interactions, such as play time and exercising them based on their need (walks, hikes, running along side a bike, etc), as well as bathing and brushing. Thomas also has experience with giving dogs medication and crate training and was raised with the belief that dogs are indoor pets and treated as a member of the family.
