Hi all! My name is Tom and I am a fourth year undergraduate at the University of Minnesota double majoring in animal science with a pre-vet emphasis and cellular and organismal physiology. I will be attending the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in the fall of 2021. I did not have many pets in the house growing up so I took every chance I could to look after other people's pets, which includes animals of many species, sizes and ages. Among the wide array of dogs, I have cared for some as small as Shih Tzus and as large as leonbergers and golden retrievers. I myself have adopted a lab mix named Atlas whom I absolutely adore. I have had him for a year and a half and have enjoyed training him and helping him to recover from severe separation anxiety. The past two summers I have been shadowing and working at a veterinary clinic back near my home town of Fargo and have gained a lot of experience in terms of caring for dogs and administering medications.
