I will ignore your dog. Wait, what?
Pet care experience
Allow me to explain what is likely to happen when I ignore your dog. Your dog might not put up with that. They might demand attention right away and they will get it. I board dogs because I love them, so affection given meets affection returned. Fewer dogs do this than you might imagine. Maybe 20%. The rest are very nervous. Their world has just been turned upside down. Most will not eat anything other than treats for the first day. They need space! After supervising the greeting with other dogs, I will give them that space. I have never watched a dog that took more than a day to get over this nervousness. But they need to be in charge of the interactions with me. Dogs tend to understand each other very well. But people be crazy. Forcing a nervous dog to interact with a person is not the way to make it less nervous. They observe me with the other dogs and they always come around. In my book, nothing feels better than winning over a scared dog by just being myself. I have two dogs - a six year old husky/eskimo mix and a six year old eskimo. They have been hosting boarders their entire lives and they are pros. I will watch up to four dogs in addition to my two, depending on the size and temperament of the dogs. There is a chance that your dog will be staying with another dog or dogs that you will not get a chance to meet ahead of time. I have never had to keep any dogs separated from each other (except everybody gets fed separately). If your dog has a history of conflict with other dogs, this is not going to be a good environment. But if your dog enjoys the dog park, they are going to have a blast here. Dog-friendly dogs only please! I have a fenced backyard that is accessible through a dog door whenever I am home. I do not usually try to teach dogs how to use the dog door, but most figure it out on their own by following my dogs. I DO NOT SUPERVISE DOGS IN THE BACKYARD, contrary to Rover's suggestion. If your dog is likely to try to escape, either by digging out or jumping the six foot fence (yes I watched a dog who could do that once 😳), this will not be a good place for them. Dogs get fed twice per day between 8AM and 10AM and between 5PM and 7PM. I can feed them just once if you prefer, but not more than twice. I am experienced with oral medications as well. If your dog is crated, I may or may not need you to bring a crate for them. Unless your dog has special food I would prefer to feed them whatever food I have. I buy a different brand every time I get a new bag because, contrary to popular opinion, this is the best way to give your dog a robust digestive system. I also do not need bowls or treats or toys. If you just leave your dog and a leash that would be ideal. You are welcome to bring anything you want, but I may not remember to give it back, so you need to remember to ask for it.
Reviews
From the meet and greet our dog Chloe felt comfortable with Thomas. She settled down quickly and thanks to the great photos and videos we could see she had a fun time. When we picked her up we could tell she felt at home with Thomas. We will definitely be back!! Thanks Thomas.
5 stars as always!
Thomas took great care of Hank. He had great communication and was very reliable. Thomas sent me updates and let me know how Hank was doing. I felt comfortable leaving Hank in Thomas' care. Hank had a great time. We'll definitely book again with Thomas.
Great communication. Our boy had an awesome time.

The only thing I will not deal with is vicious aggression. If your dog is willing to fight I really don't want to watch them.
A typical day
If your dog is the only extra dog I am watching and he/she walks well on a leash I may take everybody for a walk. Otherwise I won’t.

Dogs are generally not left alone for more than three hours although occasionally this can be as much as five hours. Everybody is generally separated when I am gone. Dogs from the same family will be kept together.
