Pet care experience
Hi, I’m Theresa. I’ve dog sat a lot in the past. Mostly over-night care at my apartment. All kinds of dogs, tiny, brilliant Pom-chi’s or shy rescues, even huge lab mixes. I love taking them for walks, to the dog park etc. I used to live closer to the dog park in Midtown so would frequent that a lot. I currently live next to the Detroit Institute of Arts, so there’s the lawn there to play in which the dogs in the neighborhood love, and a park nearby as well. My building is dog friendly. I am also available to cat-sit. I’ve housed cats over night but I can also do check-ins etc. Any pet you’ve got I’d be more than happy to give them the loving and caring home away from home they deserve.

This was my first time using Rover and Theresa coordinated with me on a day to meet my dog and calm my nerves about boarding before I decided to book. She took good care of my senior dog and I look forward to booking her again! My dog never eats in new environments, but she managed to relax enough to still eat her food while boarding!
Theresa takes great care of my Charlie. Despite being a nervous dog, I never have a problem dropping him off with her. It’s very clear that she loves and cares for dogs.
Theresa is my go-to-gal when I’m out of town and need someone to watch my pup. Not only is she happy to care for my pet, but my pet is happy to be with her.

I live in the Park Shelton apartment building in Midtown. It is pet friendly and surrounded by lots of open space for walks and playing. I’ve also taken police-dog training courses and learned how to properly walk dogs on a leash so I am pretty good at that.

Any special needs or behaviors, dietary issues around treats, personalities like; is your dog shy, nervous, do they like meeting people, how do they do with other dogs? And is it dependent on size and gender? These are some things I find important to know. I want your dog to be as happy as possible.
A typical day
Love to walk around the museum lawn, play in Peck Park, Cass Corridor dog park etc. Belle Isle is fun especially if your dog likes to swim. The Shinola dog park and the river walk are great for socializing if that’s what your dog is into. My Maltese, Byron loves meeting people and dogs. The concierge of my building keeps treats at the front desk for all the pups. If your dog loves to just sleep all day or hang around the house and just cuddle then you’ve found the perfect dog sitter :)

Availability
I only work 5 hour shifts at my primary job, 11am-4pm so it works out well when I pet-sit or dog-walk, check-ins. It gives me a lot of time for feeding, a walk in the am, even twice if needed.
