Pet care experience
My first dog, Champ, a mixed German Shepherd was with me for 15 years. Lulu a mixed Chihuahua was 14. My grand children are Metric(German Shepherd) Max(German Shepherd) Mushroom(Australian Shepherd) who I babysit when my son or daughter need some vacation time. I bathe, feed, and take my grandchildren for walks and ball time rain or shine(they live in Seattle). I believe dogs are like humans too. Not only they need food, tender loving care. They also need their play time and exercise. I play tennis at the park every chance I got, so my grand children normally end up at the parks to play with a ball and run around. They also sleep in the same bed with me when I am around them.

I would recommend Thang (i.e. Anthony) if you want your dogs to be pampered and treated with love. Full disclosure: Thang is my father. My dog pack consists of Metric (80 lb German Shepherd) and Mushroom (30 lb Australian Shepherd). For the past 5 years, I've raised them in my own, very particular way. In fact, I'm quite strict and regimented. Every day, I walk them (rain or shine) for at least 30 minutes, train them daily (Schutzhund / IPO training), and feed them raw (that's right: raw chicken, raw beef, raw lamb, and so on). In short, I'm a very hands on fur parent. Although quite strict in certain ways, I'm quite relaxed, both dogs sleep next to my wife and I at night and both dogs have full access to the house, a doggy door installed to let them roam in and out of the house. In the past, whenever I've needed to travel (for work) for an extended period of time, I would grow anxious. A stream of unhelpful thoughts would enter my mind: Who would I enlist to take care of them? Who would feed them in my particular way? Who would take care of my babies? Although many of these thoughts, over the years, have reduced in intensity, I still want what's best for the dogs. As a result, I've flown Thang in (on three separate occassions) from California to Washington in order to watch my dogs, overlooking them for about a week's time. The dogs always enjoy his company and have grown to love him dearly. One final note. If there's something specific you do *not* want your dog to do (or eat), call it out and be specific. Thang, with his well intentions, tends to be very relaxed and does not impose much (or any) discipline.
Thang loves dogs, and they love him back...sometimes our dogs love him more than us! Whenever he looks after mine and my husband's dogs, we communicate our dogs' eating and walking schedules and can rest assured that he's taking good care of them. We also get to enjoy regular photo updates from him whilst we're away!
Thang would help watch Max when she was a puppy, by taking her to the park and walks. In addition, he would take her when I was on vacation. She would give him lots of kisses and was excited to see him everytime, so I think that's a great testament to the care he gave to her!
