Pet care experience
I grew up with a cat and we currently have a very sassy cat and sweet cuddly lab. I love caring for and loving on any animal! I am detail-oriented and excellent at following directions - I want to keep things as normal as possible for your pet to help them feel safe until you return. I have experience giving oral, topical, and ear medication to both cats and dogs. We’ve had our lab since he was a puppy so I have recent & continued experience with positive reinforcement and puppy/dog training. We frequently care for my parents lab who is very sensitive/anxious and our neighbors dog & cat and are ready to take care of your sweet babies too! If you have any special requests or further questions just ask!

Tessa loves cats, even crabby, hard to love cats. She is one of those people that cats trust. She has taken care of our elderly cat, and I've also seen her care for a young kitten. Highly recommended.
Tessa took care of our dog (large Labrador) when we had to be away, starting with when she was a puppy. She clearly understands dogs and their behavior, and actually helped us to understand some of our dog’s behavior that had confused us. She has a gentle yet firm and in control way with dogs and ours responded so positively to her. Our dog has a way of wiggling her whole backend when she likes someone, and when Tessa arrives, our dog does that happy wiggle for a long, long time! Tessa is always our first choice to watch our dog.
Tessa has watched my dog and cat on multiple occasions, and has been an absolute GEM and lifesaver! I am so grateful for the stellar care and love she gives my animals. My dog can be a bit high maintenance, and Tessa never complains or gets annoyed with his needs! She goes above and beyond to make sure both animals are comfortable and happy. I am so grateful to have someone I trust so completely with my babies!

We let our dog and cat roam freely but can keep our cat separate if needed and can follow whatever crating instructions you give us. We do have a crate in basement we could bring up if needed. We like to bring our dog anywhere we can with us and have plenty of cat & dog toys. Generally the animals are not alone for > 5-8 hours at a time depending on the day. We are both animal lovers and are responsible and detail-oriented and will provide frequent updates on your pets if desired.

A typical day
We are active and love to take our dog for walks, to nearby parks and dog park, on hikes, and to play fetch. We are happy to bring your dog along with us - whatever you prefer.
