Pet care experience
Why yes, we did buy a house with a secure yard so our dogs can live their best lives! Josh and I are both lifelong dog lovers with a wealth of experience. We are currently raising a sassy Shiba Inu who knows 58+ tricks, and we recently added a goofy Finnish Lapphund pup to our pack! Our new pup is very friendly and playful, so our main goal on Rover now is to find good friends for her to play and socialize with! This is why we highly prioritize meet and greets and will only accept dogs that play well with our pup. In return, your dog is going to get so much attention and engagement from us (we only accept 1 dog guest at a time), not to mention all the fun they can handle in our home and large fenced yard (we also have agility equipment and a kiddie pool for the yard, depending on the day / temperature / interest from your pup). >> To keep our place flea free for all, please make sure your pup is on a flea preventative. >> Please provide proof of vaccination for Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella upon meeting.

Mika had an amazing stay with Terina, Josh, and their Shiba, Kubo. Couldn’t wish for better accommodations and loving care.
Terina watched our dog for a couple evenings while we were out at dinner. What drew us to Terina is that she is a fellow shiba inu owner. We have a male shiba inu that is around the same age as her dog, Kubo. Sometimes you never know how two males will get along but it turned out that they got along so well! We personally haven't had a solo human date night to ourselves since the pandemic, and Terina made us feel so comfortable with her awesome videos and photos throughout the night. We lucked out because of her understanding of this breed but I would 100% highly recommend Terina to any dog owner. I wish we lived in the area so we could set up more playdates with Kubo in the future.

Safety is most important to us. Even though our yard is fenced, we will always be supervising the dogs wherever they are, indoors or out. For your dog's comfort, we also try to replicate your daily routine so that any stress from the change in environment (and you leaving!) is minimized. We are a force-free household, which means positive reinforcement training only and no dog will be made to anything they don't want to do. In that spirit, if the dogs need a break from each other, we can safely and comfortably separate them for some solo chill time :)

How does your dog meet new dogs? (ie. energy, body language, etc.) Does your dog have any allergies or special diet? (ie. no chicken? etc.) What does their current daily routine look like? (ie. from wake up to bed time) Are there any habits or quirks I should know about? (ie. counter surfing, door dashing, etc.)
A typical day
Neighborhood walks morning and night. Fetch / frisbee / agility obstacles / sprinklers / kiddie pool in the yard. Hike or Santa Monica promenade or beach on the weekends.

My husband and I both have flexible work from home schedules. In general, we do 2 long-ish walks a day (roughly an hour each, at 9am and 6pm) and engage in plenty of playtime to stretch our legs in between zoom meetings.
