My rates are higher than most on Rover, and for good reason. I'm experienced, communicative, responsible, loving and playful. I provide exemplary care for your animals, and as my clients have regularly attested, my consistency in always going above and beyond for them has been worth every penny. A bit about my background: I learned about responsibility, compassion and play early on with Gretel, my German Shepherd. When I was ten, she arrived at our home as a fuzzy bundle of joy. She soon became my primary responsibility and as I helped raise her to become a good canine citizen, she taught me about the immense value a pet-friendship brings to life. Later in high school, I cared for a family of Wheaten Terrier show dogs and their multiple litters of pups. My complete love for dogs--in all their stages, sizes and personalities--grew tenfold that year. During college, I began regularly house, dog & cat sitting for multiple families before eventually bringing home a puppy of my own to love and care for. Rufus blessed my heart and home with 10 amazing years of close friendship, and with his help, I completed Puppy, Beginner, and Intermediate dog training courses and grew competent in administering animal medications and First Aid. I even learned how to perform animal CPR (should it ever be needed)! With Rufus now frolicking in doggie heaven, my heart and home are wide open to host your furry four-legged friends. My primary work is as a labor and delivery nurse at a hospital in Portland. I absolutely love my job, and my work schedule is great too-I only work 2-3 nights/week! This leaves me with a good deal of free time to add dog walking and pet sitting back into my life. My days are often spent exploring the many trails, beaches, and walking paths in our beautiful state of Maine. Animals have held a big place in my heart for as long as I can remember, and it is my honor to help care for and play with your sweetie while you're away.
