Empathy for All Living Things

Pet care experience

I’ve always cared well for my pets - most of which were dogs, cats, fish, ferrets, rats, mice, and when I was young this included whatever wild animals I snuck into the house - snakes, frogs, lizards, worms, ants, spiders, baby birds and bunnies and so on. I still remember my pet's names: Maggie, Romeo, Alice, TJ, Corky, Tommy, Bruce, Annie, Guy, Quito, Slinky, Tilly, Tikka, Raja, and Jet... and some of the wild ones, including "George Cooney" the baby raccoon. I'm also familiar with many different types of products and methods associated with the care of both domestic and wild animals. I spent six weeks volunteering at Valley of the Sun Dog Rescue in AZ. The work included things like cleaning kennels, holding and comforting rescue dogs during medical procedures, walking them, training them, bathing, feeding, and breaking down kennels. During this time I worked to rehabilitate a 95 lb blue pitty named Vinnie. The goal was for him to be a bit more gentle and easy to walk. He spent the first 2 years of his life pulling skateboarders. To him, a leash meant “pull hard.” His training involved daily sessions of at least 45 minutes for about six weeks. By the end he would reliably respond to “heel, sit, paw, down, come, and stay.” He could also lay down and stay put calmly for up to an hour, even off leash if need be. This is what I do for work, so I will try my best to be available whenever you need me to be. Wherever schedule conflicts arise, I try hard to be easy to work with. My pups don't use a crate but in the past I've had pups that preferred it. I let them choose as they grew up. For your pups, I will do as you ask, just as I have for every pet I've ever cared for that did not belong to me... Give me a list, and I will carefully follow your instructions while being a good caretaker, instructor, exerciser, and friend for them.

Teddy was wonderful with my group! We have four plus a foster dog. He gave extra TLC, sent us photos with updates and really put us at ease. The dogs really love him and I would highly recommend him for a pet sitter!

Teddy is amazing! You can tell he has always loved animals, and he immediately connected with our fur babies (especially with our dog Oliver). It's such a reassurance knowing they are in such caring hands while we're away. Thank you so much, Teddy! We loved all the pictures and knowing our babies were so well cared for.

The biggest stress of traveling is knowing that my pets will be safe, loved and cared for. Teddy lets me have the peace of mind I need, knowing that my pets are in the best care and will feel loved and be safe while I'm away. He's got compassion with all creatures and they all love him! I'd recommend his service 100%! You won't find a better dog sitter!!

Teddy has always been an animal lover. He has a lot of patience and understanding when it comes to dogs. His own dogs are well cared for and well trained. He’s just the kind of person you would trust to take care of the pets you love.

I understand that different people and pets have different needs and will care for them the way in which I am instructed. I love the animals in my care and want to make sure they and you are comfortable with the way I’m doing things.

Information Teddy T. would like to know about your pet

It’s important to know whether they are friendly with or fearful with other humans or animals… Also, what areas or items are off limits if any? Are there any dietary and medical needs? Are there any other things or activities they don’t like, and are there any favorite activities? What commands do they know… What tricks do they like to do? Anything else I should look out for, or anything I should be aware of?

A typical day

My favorite is walking on the beach. Second favorite is the dog park. Mostly though I will often walk them through their own neighborhood so they can stay informed on local happenings, feel secure about the integrity of their territory, and take care of any other business that’s necessary.
