When I was 10 years old, I began volunteering at a No Kill Rescue in Kentucky that only fueled my love for animals. I worked with dogs and cats for feedings, vet appointments, and multiple daily walks as well as working adoption events. Once I relocated to Colorado, I began working at a boarding facility for dogs, so I have lots of experience with anxiety-ridden animals and know how to soothe and help them through their times of stress with their families gone. After the pandemic began, I started my petsitting journey, as I was laid off from my kennel job. I worked as a Veterinary Assistant for a while as well, before realizing this is truly what I love doing, and am well versed in vet med, knowing animal restraint, injection administration, and general first aid care. After working for many facilities, I’ve found that I truly love running my own business and getting to care for as many animals as I can, so I have devoted my time to petsitting fulltime now. Throughout my different positions, I have had extensive training on canine and feline behavior and how it relates to everyday behaviors, unwanted behaviors, anxieties and medical concerns. Animal behavior is truly fascinating to me and I am hoping to soon earn a certificate in Animal Enrichment. I have had animals my entire life, including 4 dogs and a cat currently (a 9 year old blue heeler/pitbull mix, a 2 year old pitbull/cane corso mix, another 2 year old pitbull, and a 1 year old pitbull/st. bernard mix), know how to deal with multiple animals at once and have the composure and skills to care for animals no matter what the situation may be. I also currently volunteer with a small rescue in the area and have a lot of firsthand experience with fractious animals of all kinds. Additionally, I know how to pill animals, administer injections such as insulin shots, and overall body language of animals. My main goal is to make sure that your animal is happy and healthy for you while you enjoy a nice getaway or even just to have peace of mind during your work day about your precious animals.
