After I was born I had a cat in my crib to watch over me. I have had cats my entire life. I got my 1st dog 4 years ago. I will never live my life without one again. I volunteer with the local shelters for events, fundraisers, and petco adoptions. I've attended animal cpr/emergency care classes, and foster classes by the Kitten Lady. I have fostered kittens and dogs. I specialize in careing for Golden Paws/Animal Hospice candidates. My very 1st dog changed my life. He was a senior, 50% dog 50% tumors. He lost the use of his back leg 2 weeks after adopting him. We built a cart to allow him to go on "walks" including handicap accessible trails, farmers markets, and college study therapy. He learned to use ramps to get in and out but soon lost the use of his front leg. We used a stretcher to lift him into his cart. We had to say goodbye after only 2 months. He truly was an angel and it's because of him that I am dedicated to helping animals. If there is an animal in the room, forget about the humans. I have no problems getting on all fours and playing at their level. I have two sayings. "Disturbing a sleeping dog is 7 years bad luck." "When a dog burps in your face it means I love you."
