Loving & fun care for your dogs!!

Pet care experience

Hi! I'm Taryn, and I am 30! I live north of Seattle in Mountlake Terrace, and I work as a designer & photographer. My mom has a small terrier mix named Honey - she is a Yorkshire terrier, Shih Tzu, Chihuahua, and Daschund mix. My dad has a Rhodesian Ridgeback. Growing up, I had two English Bull Terriers, named Angie and Lulu. my grandparents had Mini Poodles, Great Danes, English Mastiffs, and Bull Terriers throughout my childhood. Not only have I lived with dogs for almost my entire life, but I have also taken care of them- dog walking, pet sitting- since I was 13. Animals me so happy! I can hang out with the dogs and just relax, or walk and play with them, take them to the park, do anything! Dogs release endorphins, and are wonderful animals. For dogs that require medication, I can administer topical and oral medications. I love dogs of all sizes and ages. Whether they want to run around and are super high energy, or would rather cuddle and be a little lazier, I’m happy if they’re happy. I am also a photographer, and love to photograph animals! I will give your dog lots of love and care.

Taryn has been a reliable new sitter for us. We have been so nervous to leave our dogs for the first time—and she has helped us to feel more confidant and comfortable.

Taryn was great! She kept in touch well and sent great photos and videos of my dog so that I did not have to worry and knew my dog was happy. My dog loved her!!

My fur child took to Taryn right away which was AMAZING! I think its Taryn's joyful and positive nature that drew Daisy in. I was leaving to help the movers at my previous home and our new home is still a little uncomfortable for Daisy. As I left I could hear Taryn distracting Daisy with her upbeat attitude. Taryn said that after a little whining Daisy got on the bed with her and fell asleep! Taryn, I think you made it into Daisy's circle of trust. Thank you!

Taryn was AMAZING again. It’s so stressful and scary to leave our pup but she follows his schedule to a T. She constantly updates us and loves him like we do. Couldn’t get a better pet sitter than her.

I can’t take pets in my own home, so I would be caring for them at their own home. I would make sure to check in with their parents about physical boundaries (spaces they’re allowed in, if they’re allowed on the furniture, and any times that I should leave them alone, like at mealtimes, etc.). My primary concern is making sure your dog is going to feel safe with me, regardless of their age, breed, disability, etc. If your pup is hard of hearing or blind, tips that are specific to helping them navigate are great! I like personal details and things that the dogs are used to having when their parents are home. That helps them feel safer. For instance, my dad’s dog Riley will only start to sleep if she is tucked into a blanket and it is covering all but her nose. Then she sighs and goes to sleep. My sister’s dog is a rescue that has severe anxiety. Jax needs to be in an enclosed space, so when she travels, he has a little pop-up tent that he sleeps in instead of his crate. Those personal details are great to be aware of! I also make sure to know the names, numbers, and addresses of their veterinarian and emergency contacts. Any routines or schedules I need to be aware of, like medication, cleaners, appointments, will be something I check in about.

Information Taryn L. would like to know about your pet

No breed preferences, and I would need to know basic info, like how big/weight, exercise needs and food schedule. How they walk is important, like I’d they are used to a harness and what type, or a chain collar, etc. Also, if they are in training or not. If they are, please let me know what they are working on and how I can support them. I am severely allergic to cats, so unfortunately I cannot be in a space where they live or regularly visit.

A typical day

I like to walk the dogs in their comfort zone, like in their neighborhoods or on their usual routes. We will go to parks, run around, and socialize! I like to cuddle with dogs as well, so if you are okay with them on the furniture or in bed, that's great with me!
