Pet care experience
My husband Dexter and I have been a pet owners for many years so we understand the commitment and what it means to care for animals, how active they can be, the love they need and the love they give back and just how hard it can be (on both the pet(s) and the owners) to take a trip and have no place to leave them but in a kennel. That’s why we’re here. I began doing drop in visits when I was in my teen years, for several residents in the neighborhood In which I lived. My husband and I have both had several dogs and cats since then and now have chickens. Yes, we can care for your small farm animals as well! We will provide services at your home. This will be more comfortable for your loving pet(s) and yourself, knowing they are in your home rather than a kennel at a boarding facility. We will go for walks (on leash only) and we will shower you pet with loving care as if they were our own. We do ask that if it is during the hunting season, a blaze orange vest be provided for that’s to wear during walks and outdoors. This will help us keep your pet(s) safe. New to Rover? Tarsha and Dexter took amazing care of our dog and our home. Our dog is big and very excitable but they befriended him instantly. The daily updates and pictures were a huge relief and it was amazing to come home to a clean house. Highly recommend!
A rarity on this site as a duo with so many years of experience as petsitters, Tarsha and Dexter are quite amiable, gentle yet enthusiastic, kind, and extremely thoughtful/knowledgeable. We have a dog who is a bit of an anxious sweetheart who can be very nervous about some common things, and we anticipated T&D being patient and loving with her, which they certainly appeared to be as they didn't force her into any circumstances where she seemed too uncomfortable, specifically sharing with us how they don't want to harm any trust they were building with her. We also extra appreciate their extensive behavior/habit questionnaire/info sheet they had us complete, and a vet release form as well. That was a first for us, but in a good way as it indicated again how seriously they take their job as caretakers and helped put us at ease about any concerns that might come up while we were gone.

We encourage you to write as much detail as possible (there is no thing as too much) so we can be certain we care for your pet(s) the way you wish.

Let us know if your pet have any specials quirks? Do they have a special stuffy or blanket? Do they have a favorite toy? Do they take medication(s)? Is there a special way you administer it to them (everyone does this a bit differently and again we want to make sure your pet is as comfortable with us as they are when they are with you. Do they have a special diet? Are they good with other animals/people?
A typical day
We will go on walks along nearby walking trails and around your neighborhood. We would like to request, during hunting season, that your pet(s) have something blaze orange that we can put on them before we go for walks. We want to be sure to take all safety precautions to protect your four legged fur babies.

I work full-time for the VA and my husband, Dexter, works full-time in retail so we are away during the day hours, but are home in the evenings and on weekends.
