What a relief to hear Tara is finally doing this!! I have had the pleasure of witnessing many reasons why she is the one to pick to ease your mind when you're in a jam. I'll try and highlight a few that I feel are most important. My parents have a 13 year old golden retriever. Tara was always understanding that he can't be over exerted but needs walks daily still. She was so patient walking, despite the fact that he pees every ten seconds. He also is super hyper, which can cause his legs pain if he jumps around and gets too crazy (which he is very easily over stimulated 24/7) He fell in love with her instantly, he didn't jump and get crazy he just plops down super close to her and accepts all the loving she gives. It was heartbreaking to see her go through her own excruciating loss of her dog that vets estimated had minimal time left of her old age. But Tara nonetheless went above and beyond and exceeded the time frame they gave by much longer just by taking whatever extra steps she could and honestly I think thats what made the biggest difference. I have even known her to make her own doggy treats because the dog had a specific diet. I was happy to see, though I wouldn't expect anything less; that she was so attentive! It's one thing to feed or water or let your dog out, but Tara is actually paying attention to how they're eating, if they're drinking enough, if they're struggling walking or going to the bathroom.. which is really important! Knowing your dog's habits is essential to catching abnormalities if anything goes wrong. Lastly, and I feel like most importantly; I watched her dog when she went away. While she was away, she not only left detailed steps of her dog's routine, but also where to find everything you need for her dog in the house and problems to be aware of and tricks to avoid running into those problems (like making sure you don't leave food or trash around and not leaving the trash bin open and out for the dog to make herself sick rummaging through). She also stayed in contact with me to check up on her dog. I feel like this was one of the biggest reasons I wanted her to start watching dogs' besides wanting her to watch ours ? But because I wouldn't feel insecure about checking in on our dog because she knows all to well... that he's not a pet he's family. That had me sold, I finally found someone that would treat him like I know he deserves to be treated. I don't like the idea of people watching our dog, that's usually why I watched him myself thinking that no one is going to make him feel at home as well as me; until now. Dog sitting isn't, popping in once a day, letting it out, leaving food and water and leaving for the night. You need to be understanding, loving, reliable, patient, active/ aware, up for a challenge if one arises, responsible and consistent; all qualities (and more that I'm sure I've forgotten to mention) that I know Tara has! Its relieving to say the least, to know that Tara is on the job! Though, I fear saying all this because I know others will stumble upon the gem that she is.. I do think I need to give credit where it's due. She's good at what she does, and gets to wake up and do something she loves; everybody wins!
