Pet happiness is my goal!
Pet care experience
The photo in my profile picture is of me and a stray that met in Mexico and spent the day climbing pyramids with. I grew up with Rottweilers, a German Shepherd, an english bulldog and a puglet. My nephews are 90 lb Dobermans and i have helped raise three puppies, a pitty and a frenchie (separately) I love being around all kinds of animals; I’ve cared for birds, horses, snakes, chickens (my favorite!) and chinchillas. I'm happy to help train, it’s something I’m very interested in and have done my own learning through books and online videos. I am happy to pick up poop, vomit, brush fur, give baths, anything for the animals! I am very active, love to get the dogs playing but can also just hang out in the sun, whatever your dog likes. I truly believe dogs are people too and think they are the best souls.
Reviews
Tanya was great and we would recommend her for anyone looking for a dogsitter. She was very focused on our preferences (e.g., number of walks, time spent outside, treats, etc.) and super communicative throughout the period, which made it very easy to feel comfortable with her looking after our pups, who (despite generally warming to other people very slowly) clearly took to liking her in the five days she was dogsitting for them. Hopefully we can have her look after our pups again in the future.
Tanya was great with my pup and cat. She kept them company and played and got my dachshund Wolfy out on walks every day and took extra care of him as he is a picky eater and can hard to get food into him along with making sure he gets his meds. I highly recommend her!
Everything was great
Tanya went above and beyond to make sure my cat and dog were well cared for Thanksgiving week. My dog was a little anxious and not finishing her meals, so Tanya would spend extra time with my dog to make sure she was comfortable and eating her food and would take her out on an extra walk to give her more play time. She was so flexible with our schedules and would give daily updates and photos. I know my pets were under great care with Tanya. Will definitely be booking with her again in the future! Thank you Tanya!!

My current house does not allow pets overnight. I can offer dog walks and cat check-ins, or house sits at the clients home. I have experience sitting for vacationers staying in rentals or airbnbs.
Information Tanya N. would like to know about your pet
Tell me about anything in your dogs environment that they do not like? Doorbells? Small children? Squirrels? I will avoid these at all costs or I can practice desensitizing training if you so wish. Is your cat sensitive to pets? Are they a houdini? Let me know so I can adjust accordingly.
A typical day
I usually wake up around 630 to take the pups out to go potty and feed the kitties breakfast and then I try and catch another hour or so of sleep before I actually get out of bed. Around thirty minutes or so after breakfast we go for a walk. If the pup pulls on the leash we stop, wait, maybe walk back in the other direction. I also allow A LOT of sniffing. I make sure whats being sniffed is safe to sniff and isnt leftovers. I know sniffing stimulates a dogs mind just as much as exercise. When we walk we practice manners, dont go up to strangers, stay close to me when theres a crowd. We stop at corners and look both ways. When possible we greet dog friends (if dogs temperament allows) I never go off-leash when I’m sitting, so I like to do something I call “chilling”. We sit somewhere outside and do nothing. This teaches the dog (and me) patience and how to calm themselves. After this we’ll head home and go on another long walk before or after dinner and the pup will sleep long and well. With the kitties I always give them a safe place or room I wont enter so they have somewhere they can hide if they want. They usually like to hang with me as I pitter patter around the house and im always so happy if they choose to sleep with me.

I work evenings from 3pm to 11pm five days a week, usually on weekends so im better for housesits with pups that are used to humans with an out-of-home job. If I’m not at my other job I would be home playing with your pup or outside on an adventure together. I don’t mind winter weather at all so if your pup is happy going outside so am I! I do not own a vehicle at the moment; I am a licensed driver but I dont have a lot of snow driving experience. I would be a great fit for cats! They are usually more forgiving with my work schedule. I like to clean the litter box daily and provide treats throughout the day. I always do 20 min of play at least because I know its important for them!
