Pet care experience
I am an experienced Pet Sitter and Trainer and have loved animals all my life. I am retired now and enjoy pet sitting. It's more of a hobby of mine, not a 'job', just because I love animals. I come from a background of previously owning a dog boarding, grooming and training business, and professional handling and grooming of show dogs. Now I've scaled back and like to stay busy, and pets are what I enjoy most! I am happy to customize the exact care you'd like your pets to receive. I offer drop-in visits for feeding, watering, and medications up to 2x a day in the Laurel Fork area. I've instructed clicker training classes at Galax Recreation Center, as well as privately, and enjoy lots of activities with my own dogs like trick training, hiking, agility, rally, obedience & dock jumping events. You can see some of their events on my Youtube channel called "Puptube". I accept friendly animals of any age including dogs, cats, chickens, horses, goats, rabbits and more. I look forward to connecting with you and to discuss if this is a good fit for your pets. I am very flexible and enjoy offering the best care possible for your pets. I look forward to meeting you soon! My schedule is very flexible and I have plenty of time to care for your pets as well as to provide walks, play times and/or fun training sessions. I do not offer boarding in my home, but do offer drop in visits to your home. I enjoy pet sitting for dogs, cats, and more. (No reptiles or snakes. No aggressive dogs.)

Tammy was a great asset to training my, at the time 1 year old, golden doodle Edison. Tammy worked with us remotely by video, at first I had my doubts if it would work but it turned out great!!!! It was so nice to do it from the convenience of my own home. Tammy was with me every step, she could see everything Edison and I were doing; she was able to stop and direct me how to do things properly, when needed. Edison and I got homework to practice before our next session, and Tammy always answered my questions. Edison is now 3 and I still use the techniques Tammy taught us. I especially use the leave it command. It’s fantastic to be able to get up from the couch and sit my plate down and not worry Edison is going to eat half my food. I just tell him “Leave It” and get up. Since he’s learned the command he’s never bothered my food or a drink. I highly recommend Tammy!
Tammy is just wonderful with animals and has raised and trained a wide variety of dog breeds throughout her life- from chihuahuas to rottweilers! She is also a highly experienced handler in the show ring! Tammy is the only person I would ever trust with my pets. EVER.
